That will depend on your weight. Enter it into the tracker! There's an entry for "walk away the pounds". A good rule of thumb is roughly 100 calories per mile, so you can safely assume this will burn about 200 calories. That will change based on your intensity and weight, of course, but that's a good estimate.
2) someone told me doing these videos is bad for back pain. Is this true?
That depends. If you have poorly fitting shoes, or poor form, it could exacerbate existing issues, but it all depends on the cause of back pain. Your doctor is the person to ask before starting ANY exercise program if you're dealing with chronic pain of any sort. He or she can give you advice and clearance on what you should or shouldn't do.
3) Is this a good alternative to half an hour on the elliptical?
They're different exercises, really. Exercise's value lies in its enjoyment. One is not better than the other... because while running is one of the highest-calorie-burning exercises out there, but if you hate it or can't do it, what good does it do?
Variety is the spice of life. Change it up, do different things, and don't think of exercise in terms of "better" or "worse." Do what you enjoy, and you'll find you're more likely to stick with it! Adjust your diet to your exercise... not the other way around.
