This sounds like I did just before Christmas. I have three HRM and for different reasons. The first went all over the place when it got near a wireless signal. The second is a Sportsline which works well until I get into the car then the HR goes high and that one is coded. I have also had two break and had to have them replaced when the chest strap failed. Fingers XX for this one.
The third is a Forerunner 110 with GPS and works well but the battery need to be recharged every 7 hours.
The Sportsline is the best as you can see at a glance what is going on. The Forerunner tracks on the computer and gives distance and pace.
I think the Forerunner is better if you don't mind waiting until you connect to the computer what you have done.
