The best time of day for you to exercise is the time of day that you will do it consistently.
I discovered at age 22, that if it wasn't done by 6:30 - 7 AM, it wasn't going to happen. No one cares what I am doing before 7 AM, so my exercise hours are 5 - 7 AM. I have tried it at other times for over three decades, and inevitably something comes up and I won't get it done. Conflicts abound after 7 AM in my household.
I am age 55, kids are grown and gone, and grandkids live 800 miles away. Even with just my husband and me, I still can't get exercise completed if not done early in the morning. It is quite and rather a nice time of day when the rest of the world is asleep. The older I become, the more important exercise is.
Studies show that those who exercise early in the morning tend to be more consistent and do it more often than those who exercise other times of the day. Don't ask me why, but I have been consistent with 6-8 hours of exercise per week by doing it early in the morning for nearly 40 years.
Do what works for you. It may take some trial and error. The main thing is to get moving, stay moving, and don't ever quit. Movement is life.
