I do use my pedometer on my walks and keep an eye on the clock.....and then convert that info to time for the Fitness Tracker. For me, a mile averages 2000 steps and I fairly consistently walk at approx. 3.3 miles/hr. (18 min miles); some days are slower though.
The Fitness tracker has choices for walking at different speeds, and it only seems to track time- not mileage. So my pedometer steps get converted to the appropriate time for the day. I have another excel file I do mileage in.
For my tracking, I am not trying to follow the 10,000 steps per day.... I can only deal with so much data in my life! lol...
Everyone's step length will be different...as will the speed they walk.
I would certainly include the "walking steps" in the "10000 steps" if I were tracking that!!!
