Worry less about keeping your abs engaged and think more about sitting with good posture. Think of your spine as a column that supports your head, keep your shoulders down and back, and keep the top edge of your computer monitor at about 8" (I think) above eye level. When you sit with good posture, your body will be working to support you.

I have the same kind of computer chair. When I sit in it, I never lean back. I sit up tall.

I am currently sitting on a leatherish kind of computer chair. It has this kind of dent in the lower part of the chair so your lower back can go backwards and your shoulders go forwards.I don't like the chair much because my back dose not stay straight in it and its hard to keep my abs engaged.Should I sit in a chair that it a straight back or just completely air up my fitness ball and just sit on that.

It is difficult to always remember to keep my abs engaged so I think by switching my chair that might help.Has anyone else ever switched chairs to help with this problem before and if so has it helped.

Thanks.
