Thanks for the suggestion- I will give that a try tonight when I run!

After an entire adulthood of being overweight and having 5 kids in 7 years, I decided January 1, 2013 that this was the year I would get in shape and fit. It's been 16 weeks and I am down 40 pounds. I feel better than I have since I played softball in college 23 years ago! Loving life !!

My first thought was also "is the strap tight enough". Mine came with the default medium-xxlarge strap. I wore it on the smallest setting and it would sometimes shift during exercise and then shift back. It happened during low intensity exercise like yoga not just vigorous. I bought the smaller sized strap (just the strap not the transmitter that connects to the strap) and have not had that problem with my new strap. If your strap is loose or you have it as small as it can go, that might be something to look at. You may be able to get it tighter somehow. But yes, call the company! Polar didn't respond to several emails to their customer service when I had an issue, but there phone customer service was very helpful.

I don't think that's the issue because it starts working again without adjustment as soon as my rate comes down. Good idea to just contact the company - thanks!

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer for advice. Have you checked to see if your strap is slipping?

I have the Polar HRM, which I have been using for several months now. I recently, however, started doing high intensity interval training on the treadmill, which involves getting my heart rate up to 90% of the maximum. When I do, and it gets above 161 or so, I get a "check transmitter" message. It then starts working again when I alternate to slow and my rate comes back down. Anyone else had this issue? I can't find anything in the manual or on the website talking about this issue. I am frustrated because the higher end of my range is where I need the readout the most. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
