I had knee joint issues (I'm 52). I had knee issues for ten years.
I tried a course of glucasomine/chondritin for two months. I understand that it helps some people. It did nothing for me.What did work was
1] Losing weight. There is more merit in putting less into your mouth rather than putting more ( i.e supplements) in.
2] Fexability work (stretching)
3] For knees I found deep squats with a barbel to be very useful (start off light and increase weight lifted)
4] Keep running down to 40 minutes every two weeks. I found I HAD to run (if I stopped I lost mobility and the situation got worse). If I ran more again the impact of running ceased being a benefit and started to hurt.
5] Now I really don't know why - and it can't be found anywhere else BUT - I found HIIT on a either a cycle or rower for ten minutes every week REALLY helped. There is no logic to why it should help but it did for me.
