Soreness is a function of type, intensity and frequency. If you fix the type and intensity of the workouts, and train frequently enough, the soreness will go away. But if you increase significantly the intensity of the workouts, or if you train from now and then, or if you change the type of the workout all the time, you will be sore every time you train.
Actually getting sore is not all that bad. Changing the type of the workout, and increasing the intensity both are recommendations for breaking through plateaus of fat loss. Frequency of workouts, though, should be high enough.
