So, this pain isn't only when you walk? It's when you're doing other stuff too?

Sarah,

When it comes to pain, rest, ice, compression and elevation is the only advice anyone can give you. If you are not better in a few days than you may want to contact your doctor for his/her opinion. The tricky thing with injuries or pain for that matter, is many times the cause of the pain is not the source of the pain.

Take care and I hope you feel better soon!

Coach Nancy

I think you should wait till you see your doctor before attempting to exercise. Sorry but no one on Spark is qualified to give you medical advice.

In my opinion, you're much better off taking it easy than risking injury that could keep you off your feet for longer than a week!

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

I want to go walking but have a knee pain that started about 3 days ago. Its hard to desribe except for its at the bottom of my kneecap near where my calf starts. It hurts more if I move my knee sideways. I typically put shoes on while standing on one leg and bending my knee sideways with my leg raised so my foot is close to where I can get the shoe on.

I have no idea what I did to my knee and dont remember bumping it or falling. It seems to crack more if I move around and I can hear that when it happens. Other than that if I am sititng its fine, stairs arent the most enjoyable to go up either, I feel it more. My dad had arthritis in his knees since his forties and my mom has had arthritis in her wrists since her forties too if it helps anyone. I want to be active, I just dont want to aggravate anything and cant get in with my doctor until next Monday. Any advice would be appreciated.
