Try the calculator at www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php

Just enter any two of speed, distance and time, and it will calculate the rest - including calories burned.

I'm so sorry...the way I explained it gives you your minutes per mile, not your miles per hour. The poster after me was right. I tend to use minutes per mile instead because I find it easier to track, but to each his own! Goes to show calculating sure can get confusing! Thanks for starting this thread.

Not quite the right calculation. Going 1 mile in 20 minutes is actually 3 mph. Miles per hour means distance divided by time.

So if you run 1 mile in 20 minutes, it's 1/20= 0.05. Right now that's telling you that you ran at a pace of .05 miles per minute. To convert to hours, you multiply by 60 (60 minutes in an hour) and get 3.0 mph.

Edited.....the user above is right, I gave you the wrong calculation....SORRY! Told u I was a kindergarten teacher lol! Anyway, what I gave you might be useful if you are trying to calculate your minutes per mile, which I find easier to track, that's why I do it that way....but to calculate your miles per hour, use the other users calculation. Thanks for catching my mistake!!!!!

Can anyone give me a formula for figuring out my mph?
I don't have any gadgets - but I do have a pedo which gives me my time and my mileage.
I'm sure it's simple maths, but I can't quite figure it out :D
