Did the calculation for calories burned on the elliptical change recently? I have a Life Fitness elliptical and work at a pretty high intensity on it. For my weight (142), at a resistance of 13 out of 20, I will burn about 365 calories in 35 minutes, according to my elliptical. And I find Life Fitness ellipticals to be more reliable in calorie counts than other brands.
Anyway, until today, when I'd plug in 35 minutes on the elliptical in my fitness tracker, it would tell me I burned like 335 calories. Close enough to what my elliptical said so I just let it go. Today, however, I plugged in 35 minutes and got spit back 265 calories burned - a full 100 less than my elliptical told me! What gives?
I'm guessing the calculation must have changed, right? What is it based on, a level 1 intensity? Short of adding my own Elliptical item to the fitness tracker and manually inputting the calories that it says I burned, is there any way to remedy the discrepancy? Makes it so hard to accurately track calories in vs out when the "out" is inaccurate!
