So I started running and I LOVE it. I am up to 4 miles a day 4 days a week. That's about to go up since I am looking at doing a 10k in a few weeks. I am consistently losing 1-2 pounds each week but some weeks I lose 0 and some weeks I lose 3.
My problem? I exceed the calories to burn before the week is over. Every week I get that message that reminds that I am not eating enough. I adjust my fitness settings as suggested but my daily calories to eat never changes and truth be told some days I have a hard time getting to the minimum and other days I avoid eating some things because I know they will push me over the top.
Right now I have cardio set at 4 days for 45 minutes (even though it's usually 40 minutes) and it gives me 1300 to burn. I consistently burn about 500 more calories each week and if I go for a hike on the weekend? well then that bumps up to 1000 or more!
I recently got a fitbit one and it adjusts my calories in throughout the day based on how active I am. I have been using the fitbit recommendations to make minor adjustments and I have exceeded my upper limit without any consequences but I know that won't continue.
Am I not making the right adjustments to my fitness settings? I certainly don't want to be LESS active. I want to be MORE active but I don't want to cheat myself out of the proper nutrition.
Any advice would be great.
