I do sit-ups and even bicycle kicks in bed upon waking in the morning. It is easier than on a hard floor and is a good stretch before rolling out of bed. Years ago, a fitness professional was on a TV talk show, and she was telling the host how she did sit-ups in bed every morning when she woke. I have also done leg stretches while using a work-out elastic band. If you have joint problems, this may also help you feel better once you put your feet on the floor after rising from the bed. I have tendonitis in my foot, and stretching before placing weight on it first thing in the morning, makes it hurt less.
