So I'm doing ZCUT Power Cardio DvDs. I'm pretty sure they fall under the "HIIT" exercise category... my questions are these: What do I need to be looking for on my HR monitor? Do I need to be staying in the aerobic zones or anaerobic?
Basically what I did was during the beginning portions I kept pushing myself into the anaerobic zones for as long as I could but as I kept doing the workouts I couldn't keep up. I then allowed myself to drop down to the 160s HR and then powered through some more of the workout until my HR monitor beeped at me that I was approaching 180s, dropping down to 160 again - repeat. When I could keep up I just kept pushing myself, sometimes my heart rate would get to 185 then I'd get worn out pretty quick!
So if I'm trying to lose weight, about 26 lbs, but want to get fit - what is the recommendation? Keep pushing it up there and then drop it when I can take no more or control it and try to stay in the aerobic zones?
