Hi all!! I had surgery on Feb. 27 2013 to "scrape" my right knee after I had torn the meniscus a few years ago. Before the surgery, I had been having cortisone shots every 3-5 months for the pain, but there was still always enough pain to prevent me from really doing any kind of exercise. Now I am one month out, and slowly feeling well enough to make an attempt to lose some of the weight I've gained in the last few years.
I still have some swelling, and tenderness in my knee. The doctor said not to do any lunges or squats or anything like that yet. I have a Gazelle type machine that I have been using for at least 20 minutes a day.
My question is, has anyone had a surgery on their knees and what types of exercises are safe for me that will strengthen my knee and help me to lose weight?
