Definitely start with what and how much you're eating, but talk to a lactation consultant about cutting calories if you're breastfeeding. You'll want to make sure your precious girl is getting everything she needs! DVDs at home would be a great way to get some movement in. You could also ST at home with a bench, a rack and a bar with plates. I also second the idea of walks once the weather is decent. With a stroller is great, but I LOVED my Sleepy Wrap! Loved it. Then, as she got bigger, I enjoyed using a Mai Tai, and I adore my Ergo. Carriers are so convenient, and add the extra weight for a little added resistance while you walk!

The best thing you can do to kick start your weight loss is to start tracking your nutrition accurately. Break out those measuring spoons and scales, and learn what you're eating. :)

This is because fat loss is less about the exercise you do (although it helps, and lets you eat MORE and still lose weight) and more about the food you eat.

A complete program t hat also includes full-body strength training will boost metabolism and minimize lean muscle loss. Without it, as much as 25% of your weight loss can come from muscle mass.

Be patient with yourself. It took time to put that weight on, it will take time to take it off. :) This isn't the Biggest Loser!

Not sure where you live and your weather, but spring is great for taking baby in the stroller. Maybe do some floor exercises when she is doing her tummy time. I really like the Sparkpeople 28 day challenge DVD. I started with the 30 min, but it gives you time to work up to it.

That being said, after awhile, it wouldn't be bad to give yourself a few moments to yourself. It's a nice release. emoticon
My baby is now a toddler and I exercise when she is napping or goes to sleep. That way I don't have to stop what I'm doing and can concentrate.

Enjoy it and congrats!!

I didn't have a gym membership until my son was about 18 months old, I did kettlebells and TRX at home, and ran either before everyone woke up, or with my son in the stroller.

Hi all! My baby is now 2 months old. I am enjoying every precious moment with her (pictures on my blog and page if you wanna see her!) But I am feeling rather down about my body now. I was proud of my shape while I was pregnant, but now I just look......fat.

I would love to drop some weight and tone up, I don't want to go to the gym, I would rather not be away from my little girl. (I don't want to miss a thing!)

Any advice on what to do to kick start the weight loss at home? Workout DVD's? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks guys!
