I think it's a good supplement to regular exercise. I also play the dancing games for cardio sometimes. But I have my own set of rules for what counts as exercise. It has to be at least 10 consecutive minutes and I march in place in between songs.
I think you still would need to develop a strength training and stretching routine in addition to the cardio you do with the Kinect.
You don't have to eat the whole thing.
