I know there's a lot of newish research on how active fat cells are, releasing lots of previously unknown hormones with various effects. I did a quick search and didn't find anything that says fat loss during menopause can increase menopause symtoms--usually, it works the other way around, decreasing symptoms.
There is some info on how diet (what you eat) affects menopause symptoms. That might be the more likely culprit for you, if the symptoms are diet related at all. Best bet is probably just to talk to your doctor.
