Alone. I've tried various gyms and classes(boxing, Zumba, ballroom dance) and I get too distracted by the noise level in gyms(what's up with 50 tvs all going at once anyway?) or just the other people (talking on their cells?!?) and I cannot STAND the "drill Sargent" approach by many instructors YELLING at the class. Sorry that's the OPPOSITE of motivation for me.
Now you would think yoga would be my answer right! Calm, QUIET....BORING, (plus my knees are too arthritic to bend like that)
So for me the best is an hour down in my home gym and a nice quiet hike in the woods (up on the high trails, NOT on the paved path with the strollers, dogs and chatty people) ahhhh, bliss!
