None that work as well as the 2 you mentioned, and of course doing the roll-ups often.

Be careful not to do too much too soon; strength takes time to develop.

Planks are a wonderful core exercise. You might also try some Superman variations to help strengthen your lower back.

In Pilates one of the exercises that we do is an abdominal roll-up. We start lying down on our back and slowly roll up into a seated position...then roll back down. My core muscles are not strong enough to do this yet, but I have hopes that I will get there some day. Currently I just roll up as high as I can go and then roll back down. The Pilates instructor has suggested several exercises that will help strengthen my lower abs (such as flat back leg lifts and rolling down from a sitting position). Are there any other activities (not necessarily Pilates) that might help strengthen my core so I can do abdominal roll-ups?
