I have an interval setting on my treadmill that allows me to vary my speed and, therefore, my heartrate. It is a thirty minute workout which I think is a realistic time for me considering it is not the only form of exercise I do. For instance I also took my dog for a 45 minute walk today and I also do strength training every other day. So, my question is this. Today, being not unlike many days, I had lots of places to run my kids and things to do. I decided to start my 30 minute interval run and only completed half when I had some time and then did the other half later. Is there as much benefit to a workout when it is broken up like this or is it better if it is continuous?
