You can count the same number of calories for two hours on a riding mower that you do for two hours of watching TV. :)

It's not cardio; don't get in the trap of counting things for exercise that are not. It won't help you lose weight!

I think the only health benefit you get is maybe some Vitamin D.

Mowing the lawn on a ride-on mower is not exercise.

From a calorie perspective, I only add cardio/strength workouts to my tracker. I don't add regular activity like cleaning, weeding the garden, household chores, walking the dog (unless it's a good cardio run) or things like that. These are not workouts. (Sure, laundry day can feel like a total workout, but it's not a heart-pumping make-me-want-to-cry workout. Yes, I do want to cry when I am faced with my laundry or an uncut lawn, but it's not a workout.)

Haha, I was gonna say...you'll burn about as many calories as you do driving. Zero. A push mower, that's another story...even that I would consider "bonus" activity and not necessarily exercise.

A riding mower?

None.

No activity that you do burns 0 calories - "thinking" actually burns calories. So it's not absolutely zero. But there's "exercise" and there's "not exercise".

Riding a ride-on mower is "not exercise".

Honestly, I don't think you burn many calories at all on a riding mower... I would not track it, but that's just me.. you are sitting down, it's like driving a car I think...

eat food. not too much. mostly plants.

I would like to know how many calories you burn mowing on a riding mower. I mow about two hours when getting out in the yard. I can post my calories burned when raking and physically working in the yard. Thanks for your info. emoticon
