I think if you're going to use the Wii Fit for exercise, make sure you do the "cardio" stuff for a minimum of 10 consecutive minutes if you want to track it as cardio. If you do the step aerobics and fun runs for 10 minutes straight, you could track that as cardio. If you're interspersing that with yoga and the other games, then it's not really cardio. It's activity and it's a good way to get yourself up and moving but it's not really intense enough to be considered cardio.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

I would use the low amount..45 per 10 min. Why is that important? Eat light and healthy and move..you will lose.

So, I generally do either 10, 20 or 30 minutes of the Wii Fit daily. Mostly these are things like jogging and other aerobics interspersed with yoga stretches and balance games to warm up, cool down and rest in between the more intense bursts of activity. I'm in my first week of exercise, so I'm going pretty easy on myself; I'd say over-all I always have an elevated heart-rate, a bit of a sweat, and a slight shortness of breath (general light-moderate exercise).

So I guess my question is, how do I know what my over-all calories burned is? At the advice of a fit-freak friend I've been advised to rate it at about 50 cal's burned per 10 minutes, but has said this might be a bit low for me (bearing in mind I weight 210lb's so have a fair bit more to haul about than him).

I've searched the wonderful world of the internet and had results everywhere from 45cal/10minutes to 110. What do you think? What's your advice?

How many miles till I get there?
How long to wait to meet "me?"
I'm getting there, slowly but surely.
Just 48 pounds, and I'm free.
