IT sounds to me like you may be overtraining! Shin splints are a stress injury; ;and untreated, can become stress fractures! Any reason for working out so much?

You don't need to necessarily cut back on ALL exercise, but you may want to cut back on higher impact exercise (eg. jumping).

Hi MSHELL27,

While people are reluctant to allow some time off to let the inflammation come down, pushing through any pain can lead to other issues, especially if you unconsciously change the way you do an activity to compensate for the pain. Remember healthy living is a life-long journey--there will be plenty of time to get in your workouts, if you allow your body to heal now.

I hope you feel better soon!

Coach Nancy

So I'm pretty sure I have a shin splint on my left leg. I'm not sure what to do. I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred in the morning, billy blanks in the afternoon, and a short spark people video most days in the evening. The pain started yesterday when I moved to phase 2 on the Jillian DVD (much more jumping around). The pain is not too severe and seems to only last about an hour after exercise. Should I keep going, or cut back? I really don't want to lose my momentum...
