Personally I prefer using a dedicated jump rope. You can get an adjustable length one with swivel handles at Walmart for $7.00, Point to remember is that you swing the rope with your wrists and not your arms. Do not jump the rope skip it, only raise off the floor high enough to let the rope pass under.
