I agree with the others as to focus on exercising, not necessarily a number. I would aim for 30 min of exercise 5 days a week and this would be at moderate pace. That should get you close to 1100 calorie burn. What activities do you plan on doing at home?
When I started out I walked the first 4 months of my fitness plan. I usually tried to walk for at least 30-45 min 4-5 days a week. That was a good start for me and then gradually added machines and weights at the gym.
