Hi! This does not answer your question, but when I do a hard work out I will use epsom salt in my bath water. My local drug store carries a lavender epsom salt. It is a great stress reliever and great for minor aches and pains.

Hi,

Soreness is one thing, pain something else. If you are just suffering from some muscle soreness, doing some light cardio--walking is great for this, can help increase blood flow to the muscles which will aid in repair and recovery.

HAPPY SPARK NEW YEAR!

I find it easier to do cardio or yoga when my muscles are sore from a strength training routine, but there are days when your body just needs a rest, you kind of just have to listen to your muscles, Don't give up it doesn't get easier, you just get bette emoticon r!

I think it depends. If I can barely walk/lift my arms then, yes, I take a day off. If I am in some discomfort I will do a workout, but I will scale it back a bit. If it is just a little soreness then I will exercise.

What I will try to do to avoid working sore muscles is working different muscles on different days. For example I will do boxing one day, running the next. If I increase my arm weights one day I will go for a run the next day, if I increase my leg weights then I'll do boxing the next day.

Give your muscles a chance to rest. It's the resting and healing process that makes them stronger! If you don't give them a chance to rest and heal, you may end up breaking them down instead of building them up.

That doesn't mean you have to sit on your bum, but keep it light, like a walk or yoga, something low-impact, and not strength training to work that set of sore muscles.

I've just started working out again. When my muscles are sore, should I wait a day before working out again or power through? Thanks!
