it's a higher-injury method of exercise. perhaps my only reservation.

hate the treadmill or elliptical. even with music or watching tv, it has got to be the most boring of all exercises and it is creating cortisol. My HIIT, Surge, Burst training is different every time. There are tons of different exercises for whole body, lower body, upper body, core. I can tabata train. I am usually out of breath by the second round so i know that third round is really burning fat.

I've been running (steady pace) less and doing more HIIT and I love it!

The research on the benefits of high intensity short duration exercise has been proven time and time again. Recently I posted the most current research on the topic. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22994393
Anyone can fit in time for short duration high intensity exercise with the options as to what you use almost limitless. Endurance athletes gain benefit from this form of workout which has again been proven by research. I can think of no instance in which it is not a beneficial training method.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Eat well to lose weight, exercise to get fit

You can not build a six pack using twelve packs

Often when we seek a magic bullet for fitness we end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

Different things work for different people. While I personally prefer high intensity exercise for short intervals (who really wants to walk on a treadmill for hours?) sometimes that's not possible, for a variety of reasons. What works depends on your goals, your preferences, and your abilities.

I have always thought why do we spend so much time researching how to exercise? Cardio in short durations at a high intensity has always made sense to me. If you look at most sports, there is a short duration of high intensity followed by less rigorous running. In football the play lasts about 30 seconds and 35 seconds in between plays. Soccer has hard running when you have the ball and less running when the ball is not in your area. I can go on and on. If you get into great shape playing sports then training on the same type of interval will help you get into great shape. It only makes sense.

Weight is the result of what you have been doing for the past week.
