I didn't start waking up early to exercise (I am a dedicated afternoon exerciser and I love it), but I had to change my sleep schedule for work. For the first few weeks it sucked, but after that it was OK. When I don't have to work I go back to my usual sleep pattern, but it isn't too hard to get back into it.
So, bottom line, bite the bullet and do it. Start slow, maybe 10 minutes at a time?
There are no shortcuts. No magic bullets. No secret spells. What works is hard work, dedication, and a daily dose of chocolate.
