"Slimming down" and "toning" come from diet, not exercise. So first, make sure that is all squared away. Second, find something you like doing. You might try some high intensity intervals, a good way to quickly get in some exercise. Body weight exercises like squats, push-ups, planks and lunges are all good and relatively easy to do quickly as well. As for DVDs, try your local library, see if anything hits your fancy. I love the beFit Channel on youtube, lots of great stuff there, and they had their own program, beFit in 90 that I enjoyed quite a bit. SP has some great, short videos as well.
