Thank you everyone who answered my question. I do believe Yoga will help me with my goals since I want to increase my flexibility and as a stress reliever as well.

Sure you can, but is it what you need to accomplish your goals? I do yoga but use it primarily for flexibility and stress relief. Flow yoga (vinyasa) may be challenging at first, but once your body adapts in about 6 weeks, there are minimal strength or cardio gains.

A more efficient use of your time to meet well-rounded fitness goals would be to add strength training 2 or 3 days a week (probably 2 at first). There's lots of good exercises here and you don't need a gym. Body weight exercises like squats, lunges, pushups, dips, etc. are a great place to start if you are new to strength training. During cardio, you burn calories while you are doing the activity. Muscle tissue is metabolically active, meaning the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn event at rest. It is a great way to stoke your metabolic furnace. Plus, as you lose weight, it helps offset the saggy skin look.

DEFINITELY.

The only type of exercise that does better with a rest day is strength training, because your muscles need a day-between recovery after the use. Cardio can be done daily (just not the same intensity on too many consecutive days)

Yoga has many forms. The more strenuous ones probably work better like strength, but most varieties are perfect for every day--they mix exercise with stress relief when done mindfully, and that's something we all need daily.

I know many people who practice yoga daily.

I'm just wondering. At the moment I do a walk/jog method 3 times a week and the rest of the days I go for a brisk walk 40 minutes as well. And I was wondering if I can do yoga everyday along with my current exercise regime? I'll most likely only do 15-20 minutes daily to get myself started and slowly build it up.
