emoticon fancyskater! I appreciate your input. I am sure my back does have something to do with why I get injured so easily. My vertebra in my back are twisted around my spine. I have been going to a chiropractor to adjust my back for weeks and it is getting better. I don't have a problem with a message therapist. I actually went and had a massage a while back and they do go hand and hand. However, they all want to make appoints during the day and I work for a small day care. My employer is already harping on me for all the days I have missed. So I am just trying to do what I can. The chiropractor is the only doctor I can get in to see after I get off work at 5. I don't get a lunch because I eat with the kids and my only break is 1/2 hour in the afternoon. The chiropractor's office I go to actually does recommend message to go along with what they do. Thanks again and have a great day!

Hi Dawn. Coach Nancy is so right. Massage therapy will probably be your answer. I don't know why so many Chiropractors have a problem with referring them. If you speak to a registered Massage Therapist they will be able to explain your muscle system better for you. It may be your back that is causing the pull in your hamstrings...or something else. Remember, everything is connected! :) Good luck! I hope you're feeling back to normal soon.

Yes and my chiropractor doesn't think it has anything to do with other parts of my body at this time. He gave me exercises to do for my hamstrings. So that is what I was asking here is if you have any suggestions for some really good hamstrings exercises? Thanks for your input!

Hi Donde,

It's very difficult for any of our members or experts to second guess the recommendations of your chiropractor who is most familiar with your current situation. The deal with injuries (as I am finding out for myself) is that many times the source of the pain or tightness is not the cause. My tight left calf muscle is a result of tight shoulders and hip flexors from running which subsequently lead to my tight calf. While I am working on my calf, my main focus is on loosening up my back, hip flexors and shoulders.

Take care!

Coach Nancy

I have been doing exercise where I sit on a chair that rolls and move back and forth several times to stretch out my hamstrings. I also do yoga so that I can stretch them out . I do downward dog. I just make sure that I keep my legs straight so I can really feel the stretch from my hips all the way down my legs. P90X has some great stretching in it's workouts, but I think I over did it by doing the workouts every day. I don't know I just know it feels like I have tendinitis which is what the chiropractor says I have too. I am rambling because I am wanting some different suggestions on the condition I feel I have and it just seems like everyone is bashing my chiropractor instead.
