My husband has tentatively okayed me to get either a treadmill, stationary bike, or elliptical (by okayed, I mean, I've bugged him repeatedly until he finally stopped making that "why would you do that?" face, which equates to agreement). So...what should I get?
My budget is roughly $400, no more. Less is nice, of course, but I want to get something that will last a while.
I like to walk and really like the idea of a treadmill for not-so-lovely weather days (or lazy days where I just want to stay inside) but budget does seem limiting here for something quality.
Bikes and ellipticals both seem like great workouts, but I tinker on a friend's every once in a while, and they KICK MY RUMP! so I'm not sure I could maintain exercise on one for long enough to qualify as an actual workout. Of course, maybe that would change if I did it more than once every 6-8 weeks, but I am nervous I'll spend the money and not use as often as would be beneficial.
Whatever I get is going in our bedroom (we have two cats that are notoriously curious and would no doubt try to investigate the spinning tires or belts or whatever if they could get at it while in use, need to shut them out of the room), so appearance and/or economy of size is a bonus.
Does anyone have suggestions?
