The elliptical machine. The settings allow me to push hard on the days I can or just get the heart rate up for 30 minutes on the days I was just lucky to get in the gym.

ZUMBA----It just makes me feel so darn good! After a hard day at work, three minutes into a routine and I feel the stress roll off of me. I agree 100% with BTLSMUM---a group class is tremendously fun.

GOAL: To be at my goal weight by the end of September.
Mini goal: -5 by the end of May
Reward: A new Zumba shirt!!!!

It's changed this year due to various circumstances. Right now, it's power lifting.

If you like Zumba but your feeling burnt out, really do try to attend a group class. I think you'll really appreciate the energy the participants give each other.

Step aerobics. When I bought my step last year I had no idea it would change my approach to fitness. You can do anything with a step once you learn a few basic moves, and it's good for crunches, situps, squats, plank, lunges, etc. too. I can get sweaty without getting nasty, and since I have carpet in my house the step gives me a hard surface. I'd like to run outside more, but I have to work out very early in the morning and it's creepy in my neighborhood. So I will be a stepper unless something changes.

Jogging because it can be done anywhere, and any time. All one needs are good shoes. It is inexpensive since gym membership is not required, necessary, or needed. It does not require an appointment at a gym, or with a friend as it can be done solo. It can be done with a friend or in a group.

When I was young and needed a babysitter, I put the baby in a stroller in a park and jogged around her (that was before jogging strollers were invented).

Jogging burns more calories than most other exercises. It can be done indoors on a machine, or outside in the dark, daylight, wind, rain, sun (but not too hot!), fresh snow (but not ice!).

Lifting - I have Monday, Wednesday and Friday scheduled with a friend and we've been meeting since 2006. We've had our ups and downs but we're still attending :-) It's changed a lot over the years-now we are in and out in 30-40 minutes because in the summer we both do our cardio in other ways (besides the gym).

For cardio my go-to is biking - as much as possible! My back up is the gym or a walk in the park with the dogs.

I'm not the best to ask- I've only been exercising on a regular basis for a few weeks. So far, I've really enjoyed walking/jogging. I can't wait until I get my endurance and strength up to the point that I can all out run. The few minutes of it I have managed were a wonderful feeling. And I used to think all that talk of a "runner's high" was a bunch of BS.

Beyond that, I have a handful of free weights from five beyond- relatively inexpensive and in the privacy of my home.

I am very new to exercise (shame on me). At the gym I only ride the bike or walk on the treadmill, I prefer the bike,

I have also done an old "Sweatin' to the Oldies" video. That was fun, but obviously dated. I just got two "The biggest loser" videos, I haven't tried them yet. They look like they might be a little advanced for me....but I am loving the way I feel after any exercise I try.

I would love to try a Zumba class....maybe when I am a little more in shape.

The most convenient workout for me is walking due to not having to be on a specific schedule. I've charted several routes around my house that help me decide how far and how many hills I want to walk. I can change the intensity level of it by taking it faster or slower or choosing more uphill than downhill routes.

Zumba is a favorite, but I believe it depends on your instructor and how often they are willing to switch up their routines. It's never good to get bored.

When I don't have much energy or just don't feel like jumping around, walking is always my go to option. I'm moving and burning some calories, which is better than sitting around.

Dear Pounds,

I am tired of our love-hate relationship. You love making me hate how I look. You love keeping me company, I hate that you have overstayed your welcome. It's time to admit this is not working. We must separate and go our own ways. No hard feelings. You can even take the rolls with you.

Thank you,

Walking. It requires no equipment and you can go for a walk just about anywhere.

Zumba makes me sweat like crazy! I went to my first ever class 3 months ago. It's a fun workout and it can be really intense if you work hard at it. I'm not crazy about the music but the class has a fun vibe.

I've never actually been to a real class. That's probably why I've grown tired of it. I always used the Wii game (the first one) and videos I've found online. They're fun workouts but after a while they become monotone. I just never really have the money to keep up with going to actual classes, so I've never done them.

ZUMBAAAAAA! It's definitely mine. I'd say if your class is boring you might want to try another instructor if they have one. A good zumba teacher will get your heart rate up and keep things new and different. They're supposed to add new dances and songs every month. I love my zumba teacher, it's the one class I always look forward to. emoticon

Mine use to be Zumba but I kind of got tired of it. I still like it but I was always doing the same routine over and over. Got kind of boring. So I've strayed away from it.

However, I always find myself going back to some kind of kickboxing workout. I love them! They're good cardio and usually get me sweating and my heart beating. I think they're better than a zumba workout in that aspect for me. I hardly ever found myself sweating with a zumba workout. And unless it was really fast/upbeat, my heart rate didn't pick up nearly as much as kickboxing either.

So what kind of workout do YOU guys like best? What gets your heart pumping and adrenaline rushing the best?

Holly - Ohio
