I am doing from a size 14 to a 6, in 7mths. for 5 of those mths I did JM dvds. I love her. I don't think any dvd is perfect for everyone. I am much stronger and have far more fitness stamina after doing her various dvds. I am sure if you found something you just enjoyed doing, it would be the most effect dvd, FOR YOU. I know ppl that swear by Chelene jonston (sp) ( turbo fire, etc). I can't listen her ... without pulling out all my hair, doesn't mean turbo fire isn''t effect for those ppl. Just not for me. ALso nutrition is extremely important. I would be remiss to lead you to believe that I ate outrageous foods did the 30min dvds and was 4 sizes down. Just not possible. Lots of luck!
I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it.

I really like any of The Firm workouts -- the combination of cardio with weights is a great way to get a really complete workout in a short amount of time. I saw great results with these DVDs!

I recommend saving up for P90x its' worth it, fast results. But, Taebo although pretty old works well too. I did that years ago and I was extremely toned within a couple of months. I'm sure you can find some inexpensive used Taebo dvds online somewhere.

Congrats on your weight loss! You're making great progress. Unfortunately, no exercise in the world will shrink the fat and skin from a particular place. Only all-over weight loss will do that. Keep working out, and eating right, and it'll eventually come off.

Go to the library and check out some DVDs to see what you like. All the loose stuff, if it's not skin, is still fat that needs to be shed, so as another poster said, it doesn't matter what you do, but how much/what you eat. Don't relyu solely on videos. If you really want to change your body, get a good weight lifting program going. To start, do a full body routine with big, compound lifts at a weight that fatigues you in 8-12 reps 3 times a wekk. Squats, deadlifts, bench, overhead press and bent over rows.

I like Jari Love Get Ripped 1000 and Jackie Warner's Xtreme Timesaver because they both do combination exercises that sculpt and get your heart rate up at the same time. I like Jillian Michaels' Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, P90X Plyometrics, P90X+ Interval X, TurboJam, and Jeanette Jenkins Ultra Bootcamp for cardio. I got the P90X and Jari Love workouts from my local library for free. By the way, I just did the P90X Plyo for the first time today. I've been doing Jillian's BFBM for a year now. BFBM got me in such good shape that I didn't find P90X Plyo all that hard even giving it all my effort!

There are a couple of websites that have a monthly fee giving you unlimited access to thousands of videos. Seach for Rodney Yee's yoga stuff and you'll find one of them. There are all the Jillian Michaels on there as well. You can try a bunch of them paying the monthly fee once, and buy the one you like the best!
Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big. Daniel Burnham, Chicago a

I just didn't know if anyone had a preference.
I've lost 15lbs in 4 months but now I have a little extra skin like under my arms and my belly that I would like to shred!

The word "tone" doesn't really mean anything as far as fitness is concerned. :) It's a marketing term. What most of us mean when we say that is that we want to have less body fat, and visible muscle tone instead. What is your goal with your weight loss efforts? If you're wanting to get fit, almost any DVD will do... they're all basically the same thing, with different music, timing, and combinations. ultimately, they'll all get you where you want. :) It's all about what you personally will enjoy, and stick with. The best workout's the one you'll do! The real key to weight loss is in the kitchen, though. You can do all the P90X, Jillian Michaels, Insanity, or whatever the flavor of the week is, but if you don't get the nutrition in order first, you won't see much in the way of scale movement. That doesn't mean the exercise isn't worthwhile... it absolutely is! Exercise is a critical part of a healthy lifestyle, and will make your weight loss journey so much easier (it's easier to have healthy deficits when you exercise) but you first need to get the eating in order. You can't out-exercise a bad diet!

Hi, The best DVD is the one you will do. For inexpensive options, go to your local library and borrow different DVDs. You get to try new workouts and they are all free. Next, scan your local TV channels. You can record different programs to try. Look at lifetime, discovery channels, espn, etc. If you have on demand, the sports and fitness menu sometimes has short workouts to try for free. If you have netflix or similar, put some fitness DVDs into your queue. Ask your friends if they are willing to trade DVDs for short period of time. Look around online. For example Yogajournal.com has free Yoga to try. You can find some online. Sparkpeople has quite a collection to try for free. IF you must spend money, go to local used bookstores, yard sales, flea markets. Andrea
Every day find a little time for yourself, even if it is only 15 minutes, as long as that time is just for you. Better yet is if that time is fun.
