How I feel afterwards is absolutely #1 motivation.

Watching my fitness minutes increase and get closer to my goal for the month on my fitness tracker is a BIG motivation for me.

I WANT to exercise for my overall health; but what actually gets me off the couch and/or out the door is knowing that even if I don't feel like I can do much, doing a little is more than nothing...

Sometimes I start and DON'T feel strong enough to complete what I had planned, so I do that little bit; but sometimes when I get started, the momentum pushes me beyond what I thought possible!

Stress! I started training for my first 5k run/walk a couple of weeks ago, and stress seems to be my biggest motivator, now that I'm getting used to the idea of jogging as "fun" lol.

When I first started I hated getting up to exercise but now I love getting up and doing it. I feel guilty if I don't! Motivation it is 50 minutes of time to just me and I get lost in my music.

My clothes becoming loser, toned abs (that I have never had before in my life and just getting them now at 33) and also to lower my cholesterol and my pre-disposition to heart issues and strokes (my grandfather had both and my grandma had heart problems)

What motivates me to exercise?


It make me feel good.

I know it's healthy and I decerve to give my body the opportunity to be healthy.

Seeing the positive changes in my body (less fat, more muscle).

Making new records at the gym.

Reporting back to Spark People tracker or my other forum I use and having someone cheer me on. On this site the tracker and it's diagrams.

Pinterest and reading other fitness sites/articles.

Setting goals and meeting them.

I'm motivated to exercise because it is so good to keep my blood sugar numbers down and in an acceptable range. It's good for everyone, but especially for a diabetic.

The desire to be a nicer person motivates me to exercise. The less I move, the more irritable I become. I teach so it is important that I maintain a positive attitude. It really is true that being active make one a happier person. Now, if I could just convince myself that being happy is worth sweat and pain, I'd have it made.

I am motivated by my responsibility to others! So if I am the one who initiates having morning aerobics class....I will go every time because I am the one setting up the DVD etc. And I want to go as well! If it was just me, then I often let it pass by.

So I need to the be one motivating others.

I like the sense of accomplishment I get when I work out. I also walk and walk/jog with one of my dogs, so it helps to keep her healthy, too.

I a motivated by a number of things...#1, I just want to be as healthy as I can and I'm trying to take it one step at a time #2, I want to be able to run my first 5k in October - doing a 5k has been my dream for years, but a few health concerns threw me of track, #3, It feels wonderful after I exercise and I sleep much better, & $4, I know I'm not alone. A lot and friends and family working together.

I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.

i stay motivated by just putting on my running gear and shoes and going down to the club house to get on the treadmill. if you do not take the first step out of the house, you can not get started.

Most of the time it's the sheer joy of movement. I mostly dance for exercise. I don't even think about exercising most of the time when I'm doing it. It's more like oh I feel like dancing, or oh I'm so frustrated with this problem...I think I'm going to go walk away from it, or oh it's hot, time for a swim.

The other times I just want to go somewhere. I have a lot of anxiety surrounding driving that I don't walking or cycling and I'm very impatient with public transportation.

Time to stop trying to solve things with food (lack of included) that food won't solve. Food solves one thing: bodily hunger.

In Spokane each May (the first Sunday every year) we have a huge race called Bloomsday its a 12 k run though our city you go up and down several hills and i want to do it in under 2 hours and to do that i need to get some weight off so i can move better and not get short of breath doing it. its no fun having your family have to warder thought our downtown park called River Front Park waiting for me cross the finish line and find them so we can eat a picnic lunch
i have also have a picture of me at my heaviest weight on the kitchen cupboard. its hard to believe that some of the elite runners do the course in less than 45 min. the winners cross the finish line before most runners have even started the fun thing about this race is everyone who crosses the finish line in 3.5 hours gets a finish time and a t shirt which everyone is anxious to see they are kept hidden away until everyone has left the down town area.emoticon

I feel better as I get fitter. I can do things that I couldn't do because I either didn't have the stamina or I didn't have the strength.
