I absolutely love, love, love Zumba! It is so fun!! Especially one you really know the steps because then you aren't concentrating on doing them right, you are just doing it. I lost most of my post baby weight doing Zumba. Then I started to hit a wall though because I needed to integrate other exercises as well. That's when I started doing other work out dvds as well, rotating which days I would do which. The pounds started to fall off again.

I love Zumba! I have been going pretty regularly since the end of May 2012. I used to go 3-4 times a week, but now go about 2-3. When I was doing it a lot (plus going to a strength/core class), I did lose weight and inches. I was really only aiming to tone up and maybe lose about 5-10lbs. and it worked.
I slacked a lot this summer with my workouts, but am finally getting back into a regularly routine and to shed whatever I have gained over the summer (eek!). I always go Mondays and Wednesdays, and then sometimes Fridays and Saturday mornings. The M & W instructors are amazing, and so full of energy. You can tell they really love what they do and love helping people get fit.
You will see change over time, and have fun while doing it. I encourage a lot of people to give it a try.

I love Zumba and was doing great until I broke my foot!! emoticon And put on more weight and then pinched a nerve in my back, emoticon so I am now starting to get where I can walk and I just started with Spark People too, so it is going to be a while before I can do too much, I also have degenerative disc disease C1 thru C7 so that adds insult to injury!! So, I am praying that with loosing weight it will help ease the pain in my back and then I can walk more and then increase my fitness levels.. Good luck and I will be rooting you on!! I can hardly wait to get back to doing my Zumba though!!! I love it!!

I love Zumba and when I was able to go several times a week, I was seeing weight loss and toning. I now teach 11 group fitness classes a week in the morning and my evenings have been so busy that I haven't had time to go. I really want to get back to it.

I love Zumba. My biggest problem is attending class consistently. I think if I could arrange to go more than I would see some results.

I only Zumba once a week, but for the past two weeks the class has been cancelled and I haven't lost any weight so I am thinking even that one class a week aids in my weight loss.

I have been doing Zumba classes (both reg and Tone) 3-4x a week since April (so 5 months now) and have lost 27lbs and 21 inches without changing my eating habits. The first few weeks were slow and then the numbers started dropping pretty quickly after that.

I have been doing zumba classes for the last 3 weeks and have lost 7lbs. I joined a gym and the membership includes the classes. I try to do at least 3x a week but sometimes my schedule does not allow. However, I watch my calorie intake and try to lay of drinking (which is the hardest part.)

So yes to zumba, I have seen a tremendous difference in my clothes and energy level.

I took Zumba classes for over 2 years until circumstances beyond my control forced me to stop last summer. My favorite instructor in the whole wide world was diagnosed with cancer right before she was going to start her classes again in the fall. She's been sidelined with treatments for almost a year so I've been patiently waiting for her to recover enough to resume (she plans to come back in October). If things don't work out I may go back to the gym where I was taking classes before I switched to the girl who became my favorite instructor.

But in answer to the original question, I didn't lose weight when I first started Zumba. I was only taking it once a week from a beginner instructor. I switched to classes at a gym and I lost 5 lbs without trying after I started doing it twice a week. Then my body went all hormonal on me and I started gaining weight even though I was still doing Zumba 2x a week.

I really miss my Zumba classes and hope to get back into it this fall. In the meantime I've started a walking program (on my own) and, if I can ever motivate myself, plan to start working out with a Beachbody DVD to build up my stamina for when those Zumba classes start up again. (I don't care for DVDs because I get bored exercising in front of the TV)

I Zumba from YouTube mainly and do it 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each time. I hope to get up to an hour and really feel the burn. I've lost 5 pounds by Zumba, Yoga and walking alone. I don't have a lot to lose though so it'll happen when it comes~

I started Zumba two months ago 4 times a week at the gym. I have not lost nor gained a pound. I am disappointed but I probably am not weighing my food properly. In addition to Zumba I also take in 1 - 2 strength training classes. I will keep at it as I love Zumba and it does so much for me mentally. Everyone is so happy and the music does wonders for me.

I do Zumba too and I really like it. Zumba does help with weight loss but I would suggest doing it at least 3x a week to start seeing more visual results (actual poundage dropping).

I think Zumba is great with helping weight loss is because it forces you to drink more water. During most of the beginner classes, you can pause for a couple of seconds to get some water. More water in your diet is always a great aid in losing weight!

I highly suggest Zumba. if you have already taken a few classes, bump it up to at least 3x and see the results.

I was doing Zumba 3 times a week and lost 15 lbs about a year ago. I gained all the weight back, before finally cutting back on calories and losing 23 lbs (without exercise).

Now I'm sincerely trying to lose weight by watching calories and exercising (yay!). I just started taking Zumba classes and doing Zumba videos on YouTube 2x this week. I recently had a foot injury while doing strength training, otherwise I would've gone 4-5 times this week. Starting next week, I plan to go to classes 4 times and do Zumba at home one day a week.

I started volunteering 3 hours a week housecleaning at a premiere gym within walking distance of my apartment. I get free access to almost all gym services--excluding wall climbing and any classes requiring a personal trainer. The time goes by fast with the rest of my week being free to use the weight train, take Zumba/Spinning/Yoga classes, and even swim laps. I hope to really blast away these last 60 lbs by the end of the year!

I have been doing Zumba since February of this year and have lost 20 lbs since then. I want to lose 20 or 25 more. I go about twice a week, but I will start going at least three times a week soon.

I love Zumba. Use to go to classes two times a week for 3 months and lost 25 pounds. I started nursing school and couldn't find the time to get to a class. Just bought Zumba Fit 2 for the WII and loving it. It's not a live class but its gets the job done. Been doing for 2 weeks now 3-5 days a week a little sore but feeling good. Have not weighed myself but I do feel my uniform a little looser in the tummy which is where I carry most of my fat. So if you love Zumba keep it up and happy Zumbaing.

Yes! I do it 5-6 nights a week, and I love it because it has so many different elements. Our studio just started Zumba Sentao, which is basically zumba with a chair - my legs are killing me! I've lost about 20 pounds in a little over 3 months with zumba and eating healthier. There's something for everyone in zumba!

I would say you probably need a good 10 square feet to Zumba. It truly depends on the routine. I don't have any videos, so can't help you out there. I recommend finding a class in your area. So much fun.

Love Zumba ...nothing stands between and my Zumba class (except sick kids)!

I have lost 11 lbs doing Zumba 3-4 times a week for an hour and staying within my calorie limits set by SP. This is in 1 month.

As a matter of fact, just got done with a quick 15 minute session and wanted to track it!

Yes. I lost my first 30 pounds mostly just with Zumba 2 on the Wii (later on, I purchased and added the Zumba DVDs, as I was tired of just following the Wii characters and wanted the real people). I've now added some other things like Turbo Jam, etc.

Zumba is AMAZING! I love music, and I love to dance, so this is the perfect workout for me. I just bought the Zumba Fitness Core for the Wii, on March 1st of this year, and have lost 10 pounds in 2 weeks! I went from doing it for about an hour a day, to doing about 45 minutes to an hour, twice a day. I don't get off of work until 10pm and by then there are no classes at the gym, so I do it at home every morning/night. I do a weekly weigh in, and notice the pounds falling off every week so far :) I definitely recommend Zumba to anyone and everyone, it really has motivated me to keep going to reach my goal weight.

Yes, I've lost over 70 pounds in two years incorporating Zumba exercise in my life! I love it! It's a great way to get moving and enjoy exercising. It has given me confidence to then try more challenging fitness goals... Like Body Pump (extreme weight lifting class), boot camp classes, and even running!

I love Zumba! Do it two nights a week. Started out with a 30 minute class at Curves twice a week then dropped Curves and started the two hour classes of Zumba. Been doing it about 2 years and have lost 75lbs. Finally a workout that I look forward to doing.

I've been going to Zumba for about 2 months 2-3 times a week at the gym. I tried the Wii game too and it's great for home, but I don't have much space so I feel like I don't get the intensity that I get in class. Plus it's so much fun to dance with a room full of people! I love it! I feel like kind of an addict sometimes! I haven't lost a signifigant amount of weight but I defintely notice that my stomach is flatter and my butt is lifted. I can definitely see myself sticking with this type of excercise for a long time.

I've lost about 15 lbs but stopped there tho I have ab muscles that I didn't have even when I was in high school! I still got a lot of weight to lose (about 30 lbs) and belly fat and buns to lose but Zumba is a great workout and its a ton of fun. You can't say that about most exercise routines!

I have been doing Zumba since November 2012. This is also around the time that I joined SparkPeople. I LOVE Zumba. Sure I was stepping on my own 2 feet in the beginning, but I eventually got the hang of it...I guess lol. I track calories and exercises everyday(or almost everyday) and try to keep it within my calorie range. I'm human so I have slipups too :) But thanks to Zumba and my trackers on SP I have lost 20lbs and TONS of inches since Nov...proud of myself. I have 30 more lbs to go by June. TRY ZUMBA...YOU WILL LOVE IT AND YOU WILL LOVE THE RESULTS EVEN MORE!!

I found out in Zumba this morning that this girl went from a size 16 to a size 7 in three months just from doing Zumba.

My husband and I started doing Zumba six week ago and I believe that it, together with a diet overhaul, has helped us get rid of some weight.

I usually lurk...but on this I am chiming in!

I absolutely LOVE Zumba! I just started 3 weeks ago, going to a class 4 times a week. When I don't have class I miss it. I just started my weight loss journey Feb 4 of this year. I have started to watch the calories along with the Zumba classes. I haven't dared to weigh myself yet. I am afraid to. But I don't wake up stiff and sore since I started Zumba and my breathing is getting better each class.

I am looking forward to this journey. A girl in my class has lost 100 lbs since June. Not just Zumba but reduced calorie intakes as well. She's my hero! LOL.

I LOVE Zumba. Just started it this week and have done 50 minutes each day, the fun part is that I don't even realize the time is flying by. Already noticing a big difference in my body, even though it's been only a few days.

I'm using a couple of videos on YouTube but I'm buying DVD's today and the Wii game as well. Can't wait.

Hi there,
about two years ago I did Zumba and lost 15 lbs. I just started doing Zumba again, last night was day two for me. I join a group here in town, I go 2 to 3 times a week and last night I also got some video's on YouTube and do them in the living room. I love it and I recommend finding a group to join..

I have only been doing Zumba for two weeks now, but I'm in love with it. I haven't lost any lbs. yet but I can feel my clothes getting looser. I agree Zumba doesn't even fell like a workout, it is soo much fun. I do Zumba at home using the video's on youtube. There is an instructor Ashley J. Johnson & I love doing her videos. I recommend everyone at least try zumba!

I'm losing weight doing Zumba. I'm so addictive to the class. Over the pass months our classes have really grown. Give it a try. A lot of places will let you do the first class for free to try it out. However, don't get frustrated with the routine it take time to learn the routines. Every instructor has their own routine. Good luck!

Progress may be slow, but it happens!

At one point in time I was literally doing 5-8 hours of zumba a week. I didn't notice it at first, but my instructors pointed out to me that I had def. slimmed down!! Unfortunately I now live an hour away from my zumba studio, but I still try to get in 2-4 hours a week. It is great great cardio and every instructor is so different!

I lost 30 pounds in about 4 months doing Zumba. I did it 3-4 days a week, and a step-aerobic class another day each week. I know so many people that have lost about 30 pounds very quickly doing it too. The first time you go, you can feel a little intimidated, but there are all levels in each class, so keep going. Everyone was a beginner at one point. I have met some of my best friends in my class, and we even performed Zumba at a half-time show at a basketball game at Ohio State University. I have done the DVDs, and don't think they are as great as a live class. I've also done the Wii version, and I like it as a filler if I can't make a class, but still not nearly as fun.

I love Zumba! I have lost weight doing it. It is my go to exercise because it is so much fun and it doesn't even seem like a workout...it's a party!

I highly recommend going to classes. The excitement of the group is intoxicating and it just makes it even better.

If you do take a class and you don't like it, I suggest finding a different instructor and trying it again. The instructor can make or break the class. I stopped going to the Y because my instructor left and no one could fill her shoes. I started going to another gym because the instructor there had learned from my original instructor.

I try and do it once a week (along with spinning, yoga and running/walking) so I can't say if that alone makes me lose weight. I do like it, and we just got a new instructor and he's awesome!

I have been doing Zumba for the last couple of months now, and I really like it! I do not burn as many calories as other cardio classes I take at the the gym (spinning or Turbo Kick) but it is something that I can commit to every week. The more I get into the movements and the less that I care about what I look like (especially once I get over the fact that I'm not that great of a dancer) then the more I get out of it. I typically burn anywhere from 350-500 calories in a 60 minute Zumba class.

When I first started working out regularly I gained few pounds. I think there are some articles on that on SP. I will see if I can find some. After a month or so, I adjusted my eating a little (I needed to track more carefully personally) and do more cardio I began to loose. Sometimes you gain a little weight at first but I can't remember why.....

Depending on your weight you can burn up to 1000 calories in an hour doing Zumba. I've lost weight incorportating Zumba into my workout.

I was doing Zumba for about a year then I had neck surgery followed by a fractured ankle. I am going to start including Zumba back into my workout. I have several Zumba DVD's at home plus Wii Zumba. It is a lot of fun.
