I lost 13 lbs my first round of Insanity. Watch what you're eating, eat clean, eliminate the junk and you will see results. Every persons body is different, so if you don't see scale weight come off right away, be patient. TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS! They are much more accurate then a scale. :) GOOD LUCK!!

Your food intake makes all the difference.

I am having great progress with Insanity, but it kicked In when I ate well.
Round 1
Month 1- ate regular. no fast food but regular, no restrictions. Lost less than 3 lbs
Month 2- ate very well (34% good carb, 30% good fats,36% protein) , had more energy, took vitamins. Lost 7 lbs
Repeated month 1- still eating well, etc. Lost 6 lbs
Working on Month 2- so far down 2
I am not super strict still, in that I may drink 2 alcohol drinks per week. The important thing is to measure yourself more than just going by the scale. After 12 lbs I dropped a size, and my clothes is loose again after just a few more pounds. My doctor says I have lost body fat in my weightloss mostly, which is really good (not losing just water or lean muscle). I have lost inches everywhere.

I am female 5'5". I intake about 1400-1800 cals on workout days (most days). 1200 on rest.

I had a lot of success with P90X, so I decided to try Insanity for a month.

I have to say, every workout was brutal (even for someone who likes tough workouts) and I didn't see any weight loss results.

I will admit, though, I was not very disciplined in my eating during Insanity whereas I had been during P90X.

I think the major problem with Insanity is that it is all intense plyometrics, and keeps you constantly in the anaerobic zone which is not where we burn fat. I personally like more variety...

You're going to do both of them. Cardio abs is only about ten minutes though and is low impact. I usually take a 5-10 minute break between the workouts and I'm fine.

The first week is the hardest in my opinion. Just because you're body is very much so not used to what you're putting it through. But it gets easier and Shaun T. and everyone in the video is going to be pushing you along.

If you're still in pain as you go further and it's just unbearable, it's not just aches from working your body, make sure you're feeding your muscles.

Everything I've read or heard is true about the pain and weight loss. You need to fuel your muscles. Give them food, give them water, lots and lots of water. The pain should go away. If you aren't losing weight, pay attention to what you're eating, but for me I always need to eat more.

Just remember it goes away the more your body gets used to it.

I'm finishing my first round next week. I'm going to start a second round with a hybrid of Chalean Extreme.

Hi everyone
i have never been apart of a message board before so this is new to me - sorry if I'm stating things which are obvious or already discussed.
I too have started insanity - day 5 - i didn't think i would even make it this far as the I couldn't move after the first 2 days.
I was wondering, on the calendar it has 2 worksout stated on the same day - does that mean i have to do both? or do i just choose one of them...for example pure cardio and cardio abs.

thank you

I'm about halfway through month two of Insanity. I love the program. I've lost inches everywhere. I've only lost about four pounds. But I feel more toned and I in general just feel awesome.

I started my weightloss journey on here where I lost 6 pounds. I've done some of the small challenges and been trying to keep up with them. Then I got Insanity and there is also a community slightly more organized, but pretty much just like this on beachbody. You can check it out before you have started Insanity.

There's a group I work with through there and a coach I sometimes check in with. These people definitely help with the accountability of the program and just keep me going. If I was doing this alone I probably would have stopped when I got sick halfway through. The people in the video are also great motivators and just good entertainment when you're screaming your way through this.

I have loved this and plan on doing another round adding in Chalene extreme or something else. I don't have anyone around me supporting me, but having this online group has been amazing. You can do it if you really want it!

I actually lost more inches than pounds with Insanity. I wasn't to concerned with my weight. I wanted to get leaner. But I have friends that did do it to lose weight and the minimal was 20 pounds.

I loved Insanity, I actually did a review on it. If you are interested I can send you the link.

Good Luck

Im really wanting to try Insanity and think it would help me reach my weight lose goals but how did you all keep your motivation and what type of support system did you have? I don't have anyone to push me and keep me motivated along with a very low support system.

I put high impact, but the calories shown in SP are not accurate, only an average estimate. If you have heart rate monitor, it would give you the best estimation, as we all burn different amount depending on age, intensity, weight, etc. Anyway, I think, it should be more than 300 cal on average

I have a question about insanity. How did you enter cardio recovery into SP fitness tracker. Did you enter it as low impact aerobics?I really don't know how to enter it.

I didn't lose weight, (I already was at my goal weight.) but I lost major inches. Everyone around me thought I lost weight, but I just toned up and got nice muscle definition. The second month of Insanity will kick your butt! You have to be really dedicated to get through it. I did great until the last week and then I was ready to be finished.

I loved Insanity and I earned my free t-shirt. I still do the workouts when I can't get outside to run! emoticon

I didn't see changes until third week, which is normal as muscles usually retain water for the first couple weeks as a protective mechanism , you should see difference very soon. And nutrition of course is about 60%-80% of success and the intensity of your workout. My hubby dropped 10 pounds by the end of the program, and he didn't have much to lose to begin with weight, just to trim a belly:)

I created accountability group on facebook to help people stay accountable and track their progress. Feel free to join m2fitness@groups.facebook.com

MUDZUDSU5- If it has only been 7 days I would start where you left off, but if it hurts to much you may want to start from the beginning and ease yourself back into it!

You will definitely lose some weight and likely more inches than (scale) weight. I'm on recovery week right now. I didn't lose any weight month 1 - very frustrating considering how much work i was putting in but people were commenting that on my weightloss (inches i guess). Now that it's recovery week and the pace has slowed down, I am dropping lbs.

I just ordered Insanity today so I expect to get it around the end of the week or the beginning of next week. Iím really excited to try it and see how I can transform my body into being the best it can be. I would like the number on the scale to be closer to 120 like I used to be but Iím fine with 130ís or so just as long as overall my body gets stronger, leaner and I lose inches. I donít look very heavy, but I notice the weight in my tummy, upper arms and I want leaner stronger thighs. I have little goals for myself, I am going to a close friendís wedding in mid may, plus have another close friend coming out to visit me around the same time so I would like to look a little better and most importantly feel better about myself by then. Thatís what really has spurred me on to try to get in shape, I feel horrible in clothes, not confidant at all like I used to be. And of course I want to be bikini ready by summer time when I go to the beach to visit family and friends! I have an underactive thyroid like you and Iíve noticed that itís hard for me to shed weight, especially just by changing my diet. I in fact eat pretty healthy so I decided that I needed to throw in some intense training to get my body back on track and more like it was in high school. Gonna be a bit hard since I work nightshift at a hospital but I am up for the challenge. Wish me luck! And good luck to you and the others on here trying to get fit and live a healthier life emoticon

I was at a VERY low place....my endrocynologist told me that I couldn't loose weight because I have HYPOthyroid. It was actually the kindest thing he did for me....I was 200lbs and wearing a size 14. Every year I would go back and every year I was heavier.....I cried all the way home. Finally I had a talk with inner voice in my head. I told myself that I had to help myself. If my husband or children could help me...they definitely would. It was up to me to take care of this HUGE problem.

I started walking every morning...pretty soon that wasn't enough...so I started walking and then running a little bit....then eventually I was running over 5 miles 5 - 6 days a week. It just felt soooo good. But during all this time I was VERY serious about how many calories I consumed per day. I looked at it as a DAILY thing I did....didn't look forward to far. The lbs just started falling off and after about a year I lost 40 lbs and I'm wearing a size 8. I still weigh heaving (163) because I'm a large framed 47 year old with Hypothyroid.

Last summer I decided I needed another challenge in my workouts, so I started the Insanity....it was an intense struggle...but I made it through...now I'm just finishing my second round and I have the six pack starting....but I'm still a size 8. I've NEVER been so strong and everyone I'm around wants to know how I did it. :) I'm going to try Chalean Extreme next....but I just want you all to know that it can be done as long as you take one day at a time and start by training your inner voice to speak only positive things and continue to challenger yourself as you complete every goal.

I've lost about 8lbs since starting Insanity and I have 1 week left! I've noticed the most difference in the way my clothes fit and my increased energy. I don't follow the diet plan since I'm using My Fitness Pal but if I did, I'd probably have lost more!

I just finished my first week of the second month of insanity and I have lost 5 pounds so far! I am hoping that increasing the intensity of the workouts in the second month will help me lose even more weight. I love this program and look forward to it every morning. I would highly recommend it. Has any one else had good results with the insanity program? Also curious if people have been following the diet plan as well and what the results have been like for them.

I bought Insanity last August, tried it and bout passed out and then just stared at the DVD set for months lol.

BUT, then I got serious and really took to heart to "go at my own pace" and increase my effort as I felt I could, and to back off when I need to but to never give up. No matter how many breaks or pauses I need..I try never to pause for longer than 5 seconds. It's hard and I'm only on week 2 but I do already notice that my endurance is so much better (that first 10 minutes of cardio I can get just about completely through without stopping at all). I think it's a great workout and one worth trying if you're dedicated to it.

Good luck! If you don't already have a heart rate monitor, it might be a good idea to get one. They talk about it a lot in the video and it can track your calories burned.

I have 2 weeks left of Insanity and I've lost some weight but I've definitely toned up a lot. I think I've lost like 6 or 7lbs but my bodyfat % has dropped by 3%. I think the key is to eat right during the program and you'll definitely lose.

I am new to spark people and looking to lose weight. I had a baby over 2 years ago and can't seem to lose the weight! I am interested in purchasing the insanity workouts, but wasn't sure how good they are for weight loss. I obviously want to tone up as well, but I don't want to turn my existing fat into muscle-- weight loss is definitely key!

Good luck JMELKA!! I'm on week 3 of Insanity right now and I love it. I haven't really lost weight, I was happy to maintain through the holidays but I can definitely tell a difference in my tone and endurance. It's tough but you're going to love it and be so hot when your hubby gets back!

Hi JLEGGE93! If you are not in a hurry, I am a beachbody coach and I can let you know when Insanity goes on sale instead of going to their site. They are always hosting sales. Like right now they have a Turbo Fire package which is $79.90. Good luck with the program and do it at your pace. I did the program a few months back and really enjoyed it but it is truly challenging. You can always sign up for a free account at Beachbody https://www.teambeachbody.com/signup and look around on the forums from all the users themselves, msg me if you do and we can be buddies. Good Luck! :)

I saw the advert on TV and was interested. I wasn't sure though because I hadn't seen many women's results, mostly men wanting to get ripped, I want to get slimmer and fitter. Seeing everyone's comment here has made up my mind. I will be ordering it in the new year, just have to try not to go too crazy over Christmas.

Typically you usually purchase the Insanity program from a Beachbody coach. I am a coach if anyone would like further information, just message me and we can talk offline. Otherwise, Insanity is a great program that is intense, so it may not be for everyone, but it does deliver results. Good luck to those who are doing the program. I just finished it myself about a week ago. :)

I have never tried Insanity but it looks like a lot of fun. I need to invest in it for these cold, winter workouts. Maybe it will keep me motivated for the winter.

Currently I'm in the middle of week 3. So far I only lost less than 1 pound. But that doesn't demotivate me because I can feel that most of my clothes are starting to feel loose.

I would like to add that when you do the Insanity program, go at your own pace. Proper form is better than how many reps you do. You can't try to go at the same speed as they do. You will get better as the program goes on. Also, take measurements instead of looking at the scale. You will also build muscle and lose inches.

If you do nothing, nothing is going to happen, if you do something, something might happen, The Future is yours, do something about it!

Hi! I actually just finished doing Insanity myself last week. It is a really tough program. You use your own body and do not need to have weights or additional equipment. You will need your mat though. It includes alot of jumping and push ups and cardio. Do you already have the program? I found it to be a program that I would do over again since its such a challenge. Be prepared to sweat alot. You can check out their website for more information or I'd be happy to email you some as well. Or you can always check out You Tube for reviews and what you would be getting into if you do not have the program yet. Good Luck! :)

I lost 136lbs in 12 months with P90X and am now doing a P90X and Insanity hybrid program and am toning up a bit from it. It's only been a few weeks and I'm adjusting to the nutrition plan that is slightly different. I prefer the P90X nutrition guide so switching back to that.

I know someone on my team that lost 80lbs with Insanity :)

I did insanity awhile back and completed all of month 1 I lost 10 pounds with it. The workouts are hard, it will leave you breathless. Having a really good recovery drink will do wonders I took a recovery drink with it and only felt sore for one day out of the whole month. Starting month two I fell off I had some family crisis that happened lost my motivation and quit. I did get through week 1 of month 2 it's really intense and you will feel sore even if you do take a recovery drink. I saw improvement in my strength while doing it. I'm going to start back up Insanity next weekend hopefully succeed and finishing it :D

I just jumped back on the Insanity program this weekend! I had originally started Insanity back in the middle of September, but then fell of after a week due to being super busy. The first week was reaaaally hard and I do remember feeling as if the program was too much for me to handle. A month later, I decided to give the program another try. Now that I am in the middle of Week 2, I can honestly say that Insanity is amazing! You've really got to push yourself to keep pressing that play button for more. I can't wait to see the results the end of this month will bring me... If anyone would like to be Insanity e-buddies just send me a PM :)

Just finished the 4th week; down 6.5 pounds and many inches since starting. I hear for most people the big weight loss comes in the 2nd half of the program. I am loving how much stronger and leaner I have gotten in just 4 weeks. It is really unbelievable. I think as long as we keep pushing play it'll all be good. emoticon

This is for me...

I completed day 15 today. I lost some weight at first, then I'm back to where I started. But my clothes are fitting slightly better so I'm assuming it's muscle replacing the fat because I've been quite good with my foot intake. We'll see in a few more weeks if there's any big difference. It definitely makes me feel more energized and I'm getting stronger!:)

yes you are rite, injury can occur with this workout..but injury can occur with any workout , even walking through the steps in front of your home.. important thing is that you should be in some exercises before starting insanity, I wonder how anybody can do it who is not engage in physical activity before..secondly you should know all the basic stuff in dvd before doing workout, like power jacks, planks etc so that when you start workout, you have a reflex already..its better to see the next day workout before you do it, so you can easily follow the steps...thirdly,every person knows his or her limits, so u can take extra rests in the workout, even though it will be sufficient exercise.

I have not tried insanity. A good friend of mine threw out her knee and is now in a brace. It was during the second week of the dvd's. He doctor said that he wished people would not do it because he is seeing too many injuries.

I didn't follow the meal plan. In fact, I haven't even looked through it. I just stuck with my regular calorie range (1200-1500).

I'm doing week 1 of insanity now. I love it and hate it lol! I'm just concerned about the meal plan. I was eating 1300 calories before and according to elite nutrition I need 1900 to lose. Did you all find the meal plan had to many calories for you?

Less thinking....more moving!

I am on the last week of Insanity and at the end I will have lost nearly 20 lbs. (18-19 lb range). I love the dvds and plan on going through them again after a week or two to allow my body time to recover. I fint they work for me, better then other dvds I have bought in the past because of the calendar and the schedule that is laid out for you. I had been going to the gym for about 6 months when I bought the dvds and do not think I could have done them without this small level of fitness. If I had started with these dvds I don't think I would have stuck with it. They are tough, but you just have to go slow and stick with it. I was three weeks in before I could do a push-up jack, let alone 4 or 5 in a row, but now I can.

Lose more calories than eaten. This is the way you slim down. Keep an eye on all that you feed on, and ensure that you exercise to eliminate those extra few pounds. Precisely how? Running is the final solution. Inspite of how old you are and mass, the most suitable and simplest way to lose fat quickly is to do everyday running simply because it improves our health and wellbeing through very good aerobic exercise session, so strengthening the musculature. Consistent running not just helps with enhancing the all round fitness by correct use of necessary oxygen, but additionally has numerous health improvements, tension lowering and much stronger bones being by far the most outstanding benefits associated with the same. It uses calories and fat tissues at a really quick level that gaining a sleek and fit body shape for ladies is not a big issue. Even so, extremely fat people must not use running to shed weight before talking to a health practitioner. You must avoid every situation which could result in trouble in inhaling and exhaling, or even just a cardiac arrest. Having said that, for anyone who is just a little outside of the proportions, running may be a terrific activity for quick weight loss. Take your time; it will be difficult at first, but actually, after you jump into the habitual pattern, those moves all over your environment could continue raising in amount since you have fun with your own everyday run. Fat loss is simply a reward.

I gained weight too and got frustrated then I measured myself and saw that I lost about 9inches all together after 3 weeks. Then the weight kept coming off.

This is all normal as your body is quite in chock. All of the sudden you make it work real hard, .... You gain muscle so now you're trading fad to muscles. Which is a good thing.

If you guys are interested, I'm starting Insanity Challenge October 1st. Where we would work in insanity and kinda keep track on what we eat, how we doing, checking our progress, ....
If you'd like to join me, please email me. I'll guide you thru your 60 day challenge.
Just email me a private message.

Yes, I've been melting little by little and getting stronger and more flexible. You really have to stick with it, and yes of course eat clean. You could probably have a cheat meal once a week or twice after a month of focusing strictly on insanity and eating clean. Well that's what i did and I still ended up losing (not as much that week) but as long as I didn't gain.

I'm on my 11th week with insanity...I have to repeat a lot of the weeks becuase I was really out of shape and had to keep doing it over and over. When I first started I was only able to do 2.5 days, week 2 was 3 days, and so on. Now I can do all 6 days if my time allows it... So next week I'll begin month 2 and will be on month 2 for another 3 months or so.

@ SHEBASIBADOO-don't get frustrated! I started out at 175 and when i started doing Insanity, i kept gaining weight and kept getting very frustrated. this happened for about 3 weeks. i was going to quit but i kept going and have now lost 10 pounds. your body is just building up it's muscle and muscle weighs more than fat! once that happens, i promise you will start shedding the pounds. you just have to stay with it!
