The two best exercise tools we have are our minds and the contents of our skin suits. Using the mind to create new ways to do bodyweight workouts is the key to lifelong fitness. With bodyweight work you can provide yourself with functional training which improves the way we do things physically every day.

There is no "magic" machine or tool which is the best route to fitness, people can only tout the one which they enjoy using the most. The key to fitness is to use your body, to challenge it, to push your limits not what "tool" you choose. The ultimate "tool" is your body and what you do with it. People got fit long before there was ever any form of gizmo or any gimcrack "fitness machine of the month" in an air conditioned gym. The elite military forces of the world depend on body weight training for their fitness.

It is called WORK-ing out for a reason.

I said getting fit was simple, I did not say it was easy.

Cardio burns calories, strength work burns fat.

Eat well to lose weight, exercise to get fit

You can not build a six pack using twelve packs

Often when we seek a magic bullet for fitness we end up shooting ourselves in the foot.

One piece of equipment I love si my stability ball. I use it instead of a weight bench when lifting dumbbells, so that I work my core at the same time as I'm building muscles. Spark has lots of great stability ball exercise demos:
