to tell the truth I only walk with my 3 dogs every day to the end of my 1800 foot driveway and back. Not a big deal in the calorie burning area. However, I plan to start either walking 1 mile or using my Tony Little Elip. starting tomorrow.

To make it more fun, I bring someone along with me. Whether it be a friend or my husband. It can be quality time spent together as well as fun exercise!

well, on M, W, F I work 5am to 9 pm, so I don't have time other than at work to exercise...
So I do it in front of my patients! :) They get a kick out of it.

Listen to great music and do a lot of outdoor walking so that I'm actually seeing something other than the front of my treadmill

I also rock my ipod. I pick tunes that I can dance and sing at the top of my lungs to while I'm doing it so I can bust a move and rock out whenever there is an opportunity.
I also like to pretend I'm making a video for the tunes I'm listening to haha - I know, sounds ridiculous, but when I'm on the treadmill and no ones around to watch me, it makes it a lot more enjoyable. And kind of dangerous dancing on a treadmill probably but hey, no complaints or injuries so far.

Well personally I really like exercising to begin with, but I find that music really amps it up. So my iPod is a valued part of my routine.

My iPod makes everything more enjoyable. Come up with some really motivating play lists and do a few so you've got some to choose from depending on your mood and the type of exercise you're doing.

I have to improvise a little having a baby that interferes with my workouts. I end up doing strength training all over the house while she tries to pull me over. Carido usually includes runs up and down the stairs while baby laughs as I disappear and yell "Peek a boo" when she can see me again. I wish crawling around was included in cardio because I'd have hours of that every day.

I switch things up every day with different classes and different friends. One day I'll hike with one friend, the next I'll do the elliptical solo, and the next I'll do a fun class with a differnt friend, like spinning or water aerobics...and so on. It's a fun way to mix things up to avoid boredom while spending time with friends.

I have a Wii fit and bought the new Wii fit Plus. It is fun. I have had it for a few weeks now, so I try and top my highest score, or my daughters (12 years old). Last night I spent 15 minutes trying to peg at least 34 kids with snowballs. The Wii tells me how many calories I burn during each "game". After I get about the highest score I possibly can I move onto advanced and then expert.

I'm usually working out in 1 of 3 places:
1. In my living room where I have to exercise around my 3 large dog. This is freak'n hilarious. 2. In the "guys section" of the gym. Makes me laugh hysterically, because they look at me, like why are you grunting louder than me. 3. While teaching my Turbo Kick class, where I don't let anyone take themselves seriously.
It should always be fun! Life it too short. Don't take yourself to seriously.
Friendly competitions with my husband! We both benefit! ;)

I'm the type of person that I have to enjoy what I'm doing to stick with a routine. It helped me tremendously to find fitness activities that were fun for me. Such as racquetball, hiking, rafting, etc. I love the rowing machine, but only if someone else is rowing next to me. This way I can challenge myself to keep up with that person. I also found that a fitness partner really made a difference. You can bounce ideas off each other and have the extra support.

I like to clean as exercise and to burn more calories and make it more fun I listen to music and dance around. I usually just do this while doing dishes or putting away laundry but it would probably be fun for other cleaning activities as well.

I find group exercise more fun! I go to group exercises in the morning at 8:45 until 9:45. We do a c.d. of 2 mile walking exercises after a general warm up and weights. I also like line dancing classes and swimming where I usually just tread water, because there are so many people in the pool.
this moment is all we have, so do the best you can to appreciate it!

This is going to sound terrible, but I always visualize looking really awesome in front of someone who has: doubted me, judged me, been mean to me, etc. I think about just really working it and them putting their foot in their mouth. I turn the tv on in my workout room while I'm on the treadmill and listen to the morning news. My DH is usually in the same room on his computer so having him to talk to helps, too. My latest joy comes from Harley, my dog, who seems to think my being down on the floor is an invitation to play, so recently he's been joining me. The seconds between sets I'll balance him on my stability ball or rub his tummy (his favorite "exercise"). When I have an exercise that involves my arm on the floor, he comes over and lays his head on my arm. Needless to say, I'm so busy laughing at Harley, the workout time flies by!

I don't know how others feel, but exercise is one of the best times for me to completely focus on myself and how my body is reacting with my surroundings. In saying that, I find a lot of joy from escaping the stresses of my day. Without music however, I'd be extremely unmotivated! I mix up my routine so I'm never on a certain machine for too long. Try mixing up your cardio with intervals or going from walking for a few minutes, to jogging for a couple minutes and maybe up to sprinting for half a minute or so. Overall I definitely agree with others when they say music is the key ingredient to fun.

For me I exercise with my favorite music playing or if I am using my elliptical machine I do it while watching a favorite television show. By the time the show is over I have exercised at least 30 to 60 minutes.

Music that makes me want to move is the best motivator for me. I always push myself to go a little bit further or a work a little bit harder when there's a great song playing on my iPod.
Also, finding something that I actually like to do has helped a lot. I don't have the patience for yoga or pilates so I don't make them a regular part of my workout. Some people love yoga, but I'm not one of them. I do, however, love taking classes at the gym and boxing. Doing something that I actually enjoy makes it easier to stick to my exercise plan and has helped me to stop dreading exercise.

I am not a fan yet of plain exercise. I have to do something that I don't think is exercise like playing with the kids, dancing, riding my bike with the family, hiking, team play (i.e., flag football, softball, dodgeball). I enjoy the classes offered through the high schools or local colleges (ballroom dancing, kickboxing, yoga). There are so many choices to pick from and I love that I am finally getting up and doing so. I do stick in the DVD to exercise when I can't get anything going but I have so many that I have choices there as well (most dance forms of some sort). Fit TV is also wonderful. I love the yoga in the morning. Wii is wonderful and fun. I think variety and others make exercise fun.

Exercise IS fun to me.
To add to the fun, I have a waterproof iPod Shuffle for swimming that is awesome. I trail run on difficult trails out in the hills, that's really, really fun! I swim point to points in the ocean with the fish! That's all about fun.

I actually love working out, so its not really boring for me. I can’t stand running long distances on a treadmill, so I switch over to High Intensity Intervals in the winter and just do shorter runs. Whenever I can, I run outside. The mp3 player helps, though I have trained myself to run without it as well, and it really can be quite serene. I run by the beach, so maybe that helps. Classes are fun if you can get to a gym. Spin and kickboxing are my favorite. But if you can’t do the gym, videos are great. I agree that Netflix has so really great videos for you to try out. They have a lot of 10 minute solution ones which can be great if you have little time. They’re also less intimidating because you figure if you hate 10 minutes of it, you can just stop there, if you love it you keep going (I usually keep going though). There’s always dancing. Wednesday nights are my dance nights because the hubby has class. After the girls are in bed, I seal off our living room, through on some music and go at it. Sometimes I pick a video and try to learn a dance (Beyonce is always a workout!) As for weight training, I like to rotate through series and incorporate different body parts so I’m always moving (Jillian Michaels style)—that keeps it fun and interesting.

I have hit a plateau so I started dancing in my living room. As a big Michael Jackson fan, I stopped losing weight when he died because I was so sad and cried for months. I did not want to let him go but I have recently found joy in some of his classics. He was just 22 months younger than I am. We were both born in Indiana and we both had fathers who pushed us in show biz and moved us to Cali as children. Anyway, I started paying tribute to him by listening to his music but you can't listen to it without wanting to move your body! So I beat the sadness and the flab by dancing to his music!! It's fantastic. Now I am happy because I am fueling endorphins! Here's a good article: http://www.dance-moves.net/benefits.html
The King of Pop stayed in shape by dancing to his music and to Janet's too! So if it is good enough for the King of Pop, it's good enough for me. I do it 3 times per week and burn up to 1000 calories!

I enjoy listening to upbeat music. One time I had to catch myself from singing out loud. Imagine a cat's tail getting caught under a rocking chair. Well that's my singing voice!! Come to think about it, may be I should sing out loud then there wouldn't be any long line ups waiting to get on the treadmill.

Yep, find something that you enjoy and go for it....thought I have to say, I have NEVER liked running prior to when I started treadmilling about a year ago...now, I absolutely love running and find it liberating.
I think, though, it has a lot to do with my realizing that this is an investment in me and in my family!

The main thing is to find an exercise that you think is fun!! I take Zumba classes and absoultly love it. When it is done, I want to still keep going!!

I like taking a magazine or book with me to the gym (as long as you can find one that stays open!) when I'm doing cardio. If you are able, I agree that watching TV is also a great way to spice things up. I also really enjoy spending 5-10 minutes in the steam room after my workouts... it opens everything up and relaxes me. My gym has a steam room and so after most workouts I reward myself this way. Knowing this is coming helps me power through things!

I have found, as have others apparently, that exercising while watching T.V. or a movie works best for me.

I change my routine once it gets boring and I start dreading the gym. I changed my cardio to stuff I like, such as swimming! I swim laps a few different ways for at least 30 minutes three times a week I will be working on getting that to 60 minutes. I also lift weights three times a week and workout my abs. I absolutely love working out I feel so much better after lifting weights and by splitting up cardio and weights every other day. I find myself actually getting excited about wanting to go instead of putting everything all in one day.

Hiking or cross country skiing with friends. Using my ipod on walks. I love the music. Check out all the suggestions on the workout music topic.

I lip sing along to my tunes. Yup, I may look silly.. but who cares? If anyone looks at me and thinks I'm silly... well I agree, I am silly! But laughter is contagious... and I have yet to meet a person to date who hears someone laughing who doesn't want to be in on the joke.
The joke is.. life is fun... stop caring and start enjoying yourself!

I download new music that I really like and don't listen to it until I get on the treadmill. Since I love music I can listen to the same song over and over before I get tired of it or realize that I've been working out all along.

I've really gotten into a book series so I bring it along with me, I find the time goes by much faster if I have something to pay attention to besides the exercise. Also audio books for those exercises where you just dont have your hands free.

I change it up a lot, too, plus make new playlists on my ipod. Also, on a few of my teams we love to challenge each other. This week we are doing 100 wall pushups 4 days.

Exercise is fun when I change it up and do not do the same thing every day. One day is cardio and upper body, the next is cardio and lower body. Plus the best part of my day is getting home and taking my 165lb dog for a good hour long walk. She knows she is about to go for a walk and is delirious with doggy joy!

Fun?...I cant (always) make it fun for myself but I do make it tolerable by playing my Ipod, doing the Wii and/or walking the dogs

I try and do things with my animals - walk my dog or ride my horse because it makes me feel like there's two of us in it together. It also gives me something else to focus on - but I am bad for just watching my horse's ears which isn't proper form! But it does take my mind off the hard work!
