I got married in September. For me, the nightmares started in Janurary 09 -- around the time I bought the dress -- and happened once a week or so until the week of the wedding. We flew to Vegas for the wedding and I checked my dress in a suitcase because it wouldn't fit in the overhead compartment and I was nervous about shipping it. Most of the nightmares were about the dress not getting there or being damaged (in one of them when I opened the suitcase, the dress was purple instead of white). I also had ones where my ring came out of a gumball machine, that we got there and nothing was booked, that his parents decided to move and told us we had to find somewhere else for our reception the day before it was supposed to happen (reception was a backyard party). Once we got to Vegas - and I had my dress - I was fine.

I just had a new one last night. I think it was triggered by the fact that I am stressed that my dress is too big now and I"m not sure how much they can alter it. Anyhow my nightmare involved it being the day of the wedding and we were at the venue getting ready. It was like an hour before the ceremony was to start and I all the sudden realized that the hair and make-up people weren't there. Then I remembered that we were supposed to meet them at my fiancé's grandmother's house like four hours ago. I was screaming at my mom and crying (not my best moment LOL). If nothing else, this nightmare reminded me of the importance of having a wedding day schedule, giving copies to everyone, and I will probably end up setting alarms in my cell phone to remind me of everything that needs to be done. LOL

I have nightmares about the diamonds falling out of my ring. I've also had one where my wedding was planned all within a day. Of course I was upset because it was nothing I expected my big day to be like. lol

I didn't have any until my fiance told me that he had one. That same night, I did have a nightmare. I was at the chapel, and the wedding was starting, but I wasn't ready - hair wasn't done, bridal party wasn't in place, guests were scattered, I was missing a lot of stuff (for some reason I was freaking out most about missing the garter). It was very bizarre.

I had my first nightmare last night. I dreamed that we set the date not realizing that I would be in Murfreesboro and when the day rolled around all of my wedding supplies, guests, and attendants were in East Tennessee. We didn't even have a place to get married here, so my parents told me we could use their family room, which is where we keep the desktop computer, inversion table, and litterbox. It's a complete mess and my dream ended with me breaking down and tearfully cancelling the wedding.

I'm not technically engaged yet (we bought the ring but he hasn't proposed) so I haven't had any wedding nightmares yet, but I also had a dream about losing my ring. I had taken it out of the drawer Nick keeps it in to look at it before we went to bed and in my dream I thought I hadn't put it back and it was lost.
I also understand the parents wanting a traditional, religious wedding. My fiance and I are pagan and our families are Christian (mine is Methodist and his extended family is Catholic). I'm looking forward to lots of long debates during the planning :D

I had my first wedding related dream the other night. It involved me getting married and my mother not being there because she had something else to do. I have no idea where that came from because my mother would never miss my wedding.

Had my first wedding nightmare last night.
I dreamt that I couldn't find a location to have our wedding. We just kept looking and looking. Finally it's the day of our wedding and everyone is dressed up but we still don't have a location so everyone is just wandering around from place to place trying to find where we should have our ceremony.....
It now makes me panic on how to even find a place to have a ceremony.....

SHEENANASH1, your grandmother sounds like mine. It's hard to deal with but in the end your wedding is about you and your fiance.
My mom isn't too happy with my disinterest in a catholic wedding either, but she'd be more unhappy with me having a religious wedding "for show"

I've definitely had some dreams/nightmares about my wedding as well. I think anytime there is a big event coming up, it's very normal to have dreams/nightmares about it! I dreamt that my wedding literally lasted 5 minutes and it was all over. I know the big day will go by fast, but I sure hope it doesn't feel like 5 minutes!

I dont know if i would call it a nightmare but i had a dream where my grandma told me that i had better get married in a church or it wouldnt count as a real marriage! (im not religous at all and my grandma is strict Catholic)
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have no doubt crept in. Forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be cumbered with your old nonesense. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

I haven't had any wedding nightmares per se, but I've dreamed twice that I lost my engagement ring!
I also have a bad habit of putting it on my right hand (I wore a different ring there for 6 years) and looking down at my left hand - eek! no ring!

The dreams have slowed down for me, but I think it's because I've not got much time to think right now!

My fiance's parents are divorced and there's a lot of hate there (even his dad's family hates his dad because of some of the BS he's put his ex-wife and kids through), so there has already been multiple discussions about what WILL NOT go on at our wedding. Plus, the first time I will meet him will not be until our wedding day. A little nervous about this.

The last one I had I can barely remember now, but I do remember wearing a wedding dress with blood all over it... So not cool.

I haven't had any nightmares yet, but my Male of Honor had a dream the other night in which it was the day of the wedding and he woke up at his old house in our hometown (an 8 hour drive from where we live now) and it was a half-hour before the ceremony started and he couldn't find his tux. :)
I'm getting married on 4/24/10. The best fitness inspiration of all!

I have a few drinkers in my family and my biggest fear is that they will get drunk and ruin my wedding! I have had several nightmares about terrible toasts and slurred speeches among other things. Thankfully my fiance is ok with the idea of a dry wedding so problem solved!

Ha! I had to comment on this because I had the craziest dreams surrounding my wedding. My wedding has come and gone, but up until then...I had the most ridiculous dreams ever. Dreams where we found ourselves halfway through the reception, and then realized we never got married and I forgot to put on my wedding dress or when my husband and the wedding party got introduced and I was sitting with the guests, or the best one where my brother in law decided to hire circus performers to march down the aisle with trumpets instead of playing the music for us. Thankfully none of these things actually happened, and everything went smoothly. it's stress and it stems from worrying about every little detail. I had to trust that everyone who had a job to do, did it and I couldn't make it my problem. The day is over so fast, so enjoy every minute of it!

Haven't had any, but to be honest, I'll probably start getitng them once the date gets closer.

I've had a recurring one that involves me booking a church and not realizing that the time is moving so quickly. It gets to be the day before the wedding and I realize I have no dress, no caterer... nothing. only the church. we have to get married in our jeans and tshirts and greasy hair. the attendants are dressed better than me.
