Dear Nervous About November,
Don't keep beating yourself up. Take one day at a time, one meal at a time, and one step at a time. We all fall we have to pick ourselves up, dust off the dirt, and keep pressing on. You also have to know that you are a beautiful person inside and out. You may go on that cruise and want to hide but don't... you deserve this trip and these special memories. Pretend that you and your husband are totally alone and be yourself. If you show him you are comfortable in your own skin, even when you are not, it will be a better for him as well. I have been where you are now and I have many of the same feelings and thoughts. I used to tell my finance about my weight frustrations. I have found that it made him frustrated, uncomfortable, and would look at me in that tone of voice like, you are eating that when you are complaining about your weight? I learned that WE have to take control of our own lives. This is done one meal, one day, and one step at a time. I will be here if you need support or a friend to talk to. I too am getting married in this month.
Remember, you are beautiful, enjoy this time and special memories and be confident in yourself even if you have to fake it for now. Eventually the confidence will come again!!!
Remember I am here if you need me.
Tricia

I am unhappy with myself.
Last fall, after years and years of struggling with my weight and being unhappy with myself, I buckled down, joined weight watchers, and dropped over 12 pounds in 6 weeks. I was so happy with myself. I loved how I looked. I loved how I felt. I loved the way my fiancee loved how I looked and felt, too. I went and bought my bridal gown and loved it. I guess because I was doing so well, I felt like it was okay to go back to how I had been eating, even though I hadn't yet reached my goal. I gained 10 pounds back. This upcoming week is my gown fitting. I know it will still fit (we bought the dress that was in the store and was pretty big) but I'm not happy with myself and how I look or feel any more.
I also found out this past week that his grandparents, as a wedding present, are paying for our honeymoon and spending us on a cruise! Although I am so excited, my weight is making me feel more nervous than happy about it.
I need to get back on track. I say this to my fiancee all the time- I'm going to start doing this or that and when I don't, it just makes me feel worse.
I need help. My wedding is in November, and I want to be happy with myself for it and our cruise.

Chef Meg's Zucchini Muffins

These muffins are very filling!

The whole wheat flour makes for a dense muffin, which I like. You only need to eat one! If you want a lighter muffin try using whole wheat pastry flour, which is more finely ground and available in the bulk bins at larger grocery stores. Full Recipe
