I'm getting my bridesmaid a charm on a black or silver chain that represents their individual personalities and something they can add to later.

I bought each of my bridesmaids a large makeup bag in our wedding color (purple), and filled it with bath items like salts and bubble bath and whatnot. I'm also going to buy them a necklace and earrings to wear to the wedding.

I know how you feel. We have been lucky to be able to pay for the wedding ourselves and my bridesmaid's gifts are not something that I will skimp on.
I have amazing friends and they deserve a great thank you for all of their help!
I will have to check out etsy.com :)

I was going to suggest looking on etsy too for handmade jewellery items. There is a whole wedding section and you will surely find something for each of your seven girls :)
I also love the robe idea...a friend of mine had pictures of all the girls getting ready (hair and make-up) and they each had a black silk robe (knee-length) with pink embroidered initials and they looked gorgeous and glam! Plus they are entirely practical for the morning of the wedding. Photos of them all sitting on the couch with hair and make-up done and a glass of champagne were gorgeous x

I got the cutest purple make-up bags from Ulta.com and will be filling them with gift cards, make-up, and other assorted goodies to thank my ladies. :)
I'm getting married on 4/24/10. The best fitness inspiration of all!

ahhh how nice it must be not to have "cheap" in your vocabulary. count your blessings. Fortunately my bridesmaids are such good friends that they are going to love whatever i choose, cheap or expensive! its great to have good friends like that surrounding me on my special day!

Thanks for recommending Etsy. I love that website. And you are right the items are really neat and unique.
I will have to cut corners and save money in other places. One place where I won't cut corners is the gifts for the bridesmaids and etc. As far as gifts go, the word cheap isn't even in my vocabulary.

I found some great gift ideas for bridesmaid, groomsmen, and parent gifts on etsy.com. A lot of it is homemade so that makes it pretty unique.

If your bridesmaids like Sterling Silver jewelry then Tiffany and Co. makes some affordable sterling silver jewelry. And pretty too.
Keep in mind though that there is only one authorized Tiffany and Co website. Tiffany and Co, never goes on sale. The websites that sell for 60-80% off are fakes.
I just finished my shopping for bridesmaid gifts. One of my bridesmaids new I was looking for necklaces with sapphires (to match the dress and my engagement ring. I have kind of themed the wedding around my ring), and she found a great deal at a local jeweler. So I just bought all six of them very nice silver and sapphire necklaces for only $20 a piece. I was very excited.

This is a great post. I bought my bridesmaids personalized totes from theknot.com and I am filling them with different things for each girl. For example, my sister is the classic hostess so I bought her a few things to display when she's hosting a dinner party and a special spreading knife because she loves to make her own dips and spreads at get togethers. They are each getting a necklace, bracelet, or earrings but I am giving each bridesmaid jewelry in their own style.
You sound like you have it figured out and they will appreciate whatever you give them because you have put your heart in to it.

I really like the idea of stuffing some meaningful, fun things in a special bag! There will be some great deals around the holidays so it will be a perfect time to shop around for bridesmaids' gifts!!
Good luck!

I was thinking about getting a string of fresh water pearls from the same place I got mine from.

I have really struggled with this area. I have went back on forth with ideas. I am trying to be economical since I have 6 bridesmaids, but at the same time I don't want to be cheap. So far I have gotten them all jewelry rolls and will put the necklace and earrings I want them to wear on the wedding day in there. My fiancee's mother sells Avon, so she is putting together little gift bags with Avon lotions and stuff like that in there. I was also thinking of getting small bottles of VS perfume for them.

I like the idea of a tote bag with their name or first initial embroidered on them. That is really cute and useful.
I also like the idea of flip flops. We all know that their feet will be hurting if they have to wear dress shoes all day and night.
I am a frugalista in the very definition of the word but one place I refuse to skimp is bridesmaids gifts. And gifts for everyone else. Since they worked so hard to make my day special.
Hi Turrrra, I got married a little over a year ago, and I also had 7 bridesmaids. I got each one of them robes with their initials monogrammed on them. Each was monogrammed in a different color. I bought the robes on eBay, and if I remember correctly, they were less than $20 each. They turned out really cute and all my girls loved them!

I just got married in October, so I got all the girls different purple scarves (purple is our wedding color). Another thing we did for the entire wedding party was at the reception. Instead of having place cards for each of them, we had a frame at their seat. In the frame was a personal message or story about each of them. They really liked the frames. I'm sure whatever you do will be appreciated. Sounds like you have some great ideas.

I too have been thinking of a nice bag and filling it with personal little things they can keep and use again.

I'm getting married on the beach, so I was planning to get my bridesmaids a personalized LL Bean Boat & Tote bag with their name on it in the wedding colors and fill it with beachy things--flipflops, salt water taffy, funny sunglasses, maybe a t-shirt from the beach we're having the ceremony and reception at.

MANDIETERRIER1, I understand what you mean. I was actually thinking about personalized bags but with their first initial or name on them rather than "bridesmaid" or "maid of honor" with something inside, like a bracelet or something pretty in colors they like. I was just thinking that if it said "bridesmaid" they wouldn't really be able to use it all that long anyway. If they get anything like that, it'll just be a fun little side gift and NOT the main gift at all! I see a lot of nice jewelry that I think the girls would like. Most of them are pretty into fashion and jewelry, so that would likely be a great choice for them! I am bummed out that the lady who customizes jewelry isn't contacting me back. I have tried calling and e-mailing with no luck and I don't want to keep bugging her. She seemed very interested in making them for me when I met her a few months ago in person, so maybe she is just really busy right now!

I recommend jewelry that they would like.
I don't really recommend anything that says Bridesmaid or Maid of Honor. That is to corny, sorry JMO.
Thank you for your reply! The photo idea is a great one. They all love pictures and it will be a special memory! There are some cute ideas on the links :) I actually bought my maid of honor those little cosmetic bags as a little something extra for her. Perhaps I can fill the bags with fun things and do that for the other girls. I also like the jewelry on those pages, and the wine glasses are super cute! I do have a few "big drinkers" who may really enjoy them! Thanks again :)

Maybe have the photographer take individual photos of you with each one of them and then buy pretty frames and give them each the photo of you and them.
Check out these sites. They have tons of ideas and personalize stuff. Cheers!

Hi there! I am trying to think of some good bridesmaid gift ideas. I'd hate to get my girls things that they won't be able to use or anything too corny. I will be taking us all out for pedicures and lunch the day of the wedding and treating, and originally was going to get jewelry custom-made for each girl in their favorite colors. I met a lady who makes gorgeous swarovski crystal jewelry and can customize them however I'd like. BUT I haven't been able to reach the lady by phone or e-mail and can't wait around forever. Now I'm looking for a backup plan in case I can't reach her.
I'd appreciate any ideas :) I have 7 bridesmaids and will be providing a LOT for my guests and wedding party at the ceremony and reception (they are excited about the top shelf open bar!) so I plan on not spending a very high amount on gifts (plus gotta set some aside for the pedicures).

This dip doesn't have many of the same ingredients as hummus, but it is about the same consistency. I spread this on bread or tortillas with vegetables for a quick sandwich, I dip carrots and celery into it, and I eat it with tortilla chips for a snack.
