Yes I agree more woman than men actively use this site but my point is simply this, when you have a website such as Spark People it needs to be equally balanced for both sexes. Take for example the workout videos, make video's to demonstrate certain target area exercises it should not always be women in the videos. It would be more beneficial to me to see a guy doing the exercise so that I can see what the potential end result is rather than some fit chic. I can't get motivated by that because I don't and won't look like that. What about having male trainers to do the same as coach Nicole? She can be motivating yes I'll give you that but it isn't the same.I feel like I'm a guy that goes to an all female gym and that I don't get out of it what I need so that is why I've decided to look into the Mens Health website where I can get a web trainer to guide me through my fitness improvement process. I mean no disrespect to Spark People but it is not what it needs to be for myself personally and I need to make this change.

I will say in a way you are right. the majority of the content on this site is geared toward women. The reason is that the majority of active users are women. The users write and contribute alot to the site, and the articles etc reflect that.

I have not had ANY issues finding what I'm looking for though as a guy on the site. The only thing that would be nice is more ACTIVE male members. I end up talking to the women on the site because they actually participate. I'm by no means saying all the men are inactive, but there is a big disparity in number of active females vice active males.

Congratulations on your success so far!

I'm sorry you feel that the site is geared towards women only. The majority of our content is for the general population, both women and men, however we do have some content geared towards one or the other. We do have some articles and content just for men. Some of that is here:
. We have also featured blogs for men, including success stories from some of our male members, which can be found with these links:

I will certainly pass along your feedback to our team for consideration though to help make men feel more included. I hope that you will reconsider staying on the site. emoticon

I have been a member of Spark People for some time now and while I have had some success with my weight loss it seems to me that the more I read the messages and motivational blogs and even the emails that come to me they are all about women!! I have not come across any success stories or stories of trials and tribulations from guys. Being a guy myself I find this to be less than motivating. I'll go as far as to even point out the daily motivational photos, THEY ARE ALL ABOUT WOMEN!!! It is with great sadness that I have come to the decision to leave Spark People and go over to the folks at Mens Health to get a more practical diet and exercise plan that is designed for men and that is right for me.I will say this, Spark People can do amazing things for women who are struggling with their weight and proper diets and I applaud the trainers for that. If there was a chance that there could be a more clearer gender specific plan put in place for both genders I might consider coming back. Maybe I've read into this the wrong way or perhaps not, either way I have enjoyed my time here at Spark People and would like to wish everyone much success in the future goals.
