I 2nd downloading AdBlockPlus. I use it on Chrome & don't see any ads at all.

A lot of times you can get malicious malware from other websites that follow you around so it might not be from here on SparkPeople.

In Mozilla Firefox: Go to Tools / Add-ons.
If there is anything there that you didn't add on click on Disable.
You might have to restart your browser.

See if that helps.

I'm sure Internet Explorer has a similar option.

Download the Ad Blocker called Ad Block Plus. It's free.

You can download Ad Block Plus for Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera or Android browsers.

I see no ads.

CHERYLHAMMER, very plainly put. What we are seeing are not ads but malicious malware, leading to viruses. Twice today alone my antivirus protection locked down two of these red full screen "Update Java" popups and knocked me right off SP. Then I got an "Update Flash" popup. SP knows about this if they are reading these posts. They have to do something or they will lose a fair number of people, including me and I've been on here almost 6 years. It's getting out of hand!

I have sent a screenshot to the email provided. The problem with the screenshot, and I'm sure it's with everyone else also, is that the whole screen goes red with the warning or update so we cannot tell you what shows on the Spark page we are viewing.
I'm sure the problem lies within the ads that run under the orange toolbar since that is the last ad to load before the warning pops up so I cannot even tell you what ad it is.
This morning I've been just clicking between posts on the message board and I've had the warning pop up several times. Yesterday I didn't have any problems.
With January being full of resolutions and people trying to start up a routine for weight loss etc...having this issue hassle us is annoying. People are going to jump ship to other sites similar to SparkPeople if it is not resolved.
I understand that the ads keep Spark free, however, this problem needs resolution ASAP.
TAKE DOWN THE ADS AND ONLY REPOST THEM IF THEY ARE SAFE!!!

Hello HEALTHY4ME,

Sorry that you are seeing that same issue. As mentioned below, it would be very helpful if you would send us a screenshot the next time it happens. You can attach that to an email to adreport@sparkpeople.com, along with any related info . That will give our ad team what they need to try to block the problem ad if causing the issue.

Sorry you are having that happen. If you see that again, please take a screenshot and attach that to an email to adreport@sparkpeople.com along with any additional info like what page you were on when it happened and if you noticed any particular ad showing at the time. Thanks in advance for taking the time to do that. Since not everyone sees the same ads and issues, we need members to report these details so we can investigate.

For the past few days, I've been having an issue that I thought was a virus: I'd be using my computer and suddenly the webpage I was on would redirect to 'javadaygood', which told me my browser/flash/whatever was out of date and tried to force me to install it. I soon realized this was only happening while I was on Sparkpeople. A search suggests this isn't exactly a virus, but is a banner ad forcing a redirect. I don't know which it is, but it's driving me mad.
