Unfortunately, there isn't an option to change that setting. However, if you happen to forget to uncheck that, if you receive an email notification that you don't want, you can just delete it. As long as you don't click on the link in the email, you will not receive further notifications for that topic.

Is there a setting to stop the automatic box check that occurs stating "I want an email to be sent to me when anyone replies to this topic"? With the exception of this particular message, I never want a slew of notifications sent to me. It's irritating and time consuming to have to uncheck the box. Once I forgot to do so, and OMG! Thanks, Denise emoticon
