I wanted to let you know that though time warner denied returning emails to us, we were able to locate the specific mail failure messages we received from time warner when sending emails to you. We have requested that they remove the block and hopefully they will, as that is really all we can do from our end. According to their website, the block should be lifted in 6 hours, so hopefully you get all your emails tomorrow!

Anne ~ Yesterday I received 2 pieces of Spark email, but not the rest I have signed up for. I went to my email page, which had once again changed back to "Never Mail Me Again." I reset my email address, unclicked the "Never Mail Me Again" box, checked the email I wanted, and saved it. Today, I received no email at all. Since this issue has been going on for a while (a week or so?), and I have been having to come in daily to "fix" my email settings on SparkPeople, I decided to call my Internet service provide, Time Warner Cable, as you suggested.

I have checked the settings on both my home email delivery app (Outlook Express) and on webmail, which I use at work, against what TWC says they should be. Those settings are correct. My setting specifically states NOT to block any email, and instructions are for mail perceived to be junk mail to be put in my junk mail folder. (Nothing there.) They have also told me that they have no way of discerning whether or not they have bounced back email to SparkPeople, but since my settings instruct NOT to block email, it should never be bounced back. Without saying so specifically, because my personal settings are correct, they disavow any possibility that my Spark Mail is being bounced back by the their servers by any kind of filter at that level.

So SP is basically saying it's my ISP's fault, and Time Warner is saying, no it's not.

I asked the technician how SparkPeople IT people could connect with Time Warner to hopefully resolve this issue, and the technician was told by her own people that they cannot give out an email address or phone number for Spark People to use to contact them. The only way to contact them is thru chatting online, and in order to do that, SP would have to have an account with TWC. I know that SP has wanted to be cooperative in working out these problems, but unless you have a working relationship with Time Warner, I'm stumped. Not to mention frustrated. I think my only choice is to look at your email here on the website, but I can't tell you how much I'll miss my emails coming from you. It's been a kind of morning ritual I've enjoyed for years, and now suddenly, it's gone.

Because our email comes from different IP addresses, it wouldn't be unusual for some to get through and not others. The reason that the email might not go into your junk mail folder is that because of the proliferation of spam, many ISPs have a filter that filters emails before it even gets to their server, and those emails don't show up in your box for you to make that decision. If that happens, the SparkPeople email server sees a successful delivery and you don't see any emails either in your Inbox or in your Junk Mail folders. That is why allowing email from SP at this level may not work and it appears as if we never sent the email. We sent it, it just didn't hit the email server.

I'm not sure why some are getting through and others aren't, and why they aren't going into my junk filter for ME to say whether they're spam or not. But knowing Time Warner, it could be anything. I just guess the timing is coincidental that this started when I changed the setting to include the daily recipe email. Oh, well, thanks for your suggestion. I appreciate it.

Hi,

When that box is being checked, it is because your email provider is returning an email to us as undeliverable. It isn't a matter of your settings not saving, but one where your email provider isn't accepting our emails and is returning them. You may want to contact your provider about this, and might want to consider using a different provider for your SparkPeople emails (some free options include gmail and yahoo).

I had been receiving emails from SparkPeople regularly for years until I went in and added another email (the daily recipe one). Ever since then, I've had problems receiving the other emails that I had signed up for and had been receiving. I have gone into the email section, and "reset" my email address (even though it has not changed), unchecked the "never mail me again," checked all the emails I want, and saved the settings, but the very next day, the settings are back to "never mail me again." In spite of this, ironically, I am still receiving the daily recipe email. I have just come from re-setting things again. Is there anyway you can check to find out what is wrong that my settings aren't saving? Thanks!
