If you click on the Nutritional Info for that food item, you will see at the top right
"Is this information correct?" You can click on 'No' (you will even get a SparkPoint for doing so.

I get incorrect readings every day on the FOLIC ACID part of the tracker, and now I have entered the Lean Cuisine Roasted Turkey Breast with herb dressing and cinnamon apples and it is reflecting 290 calories and as I am holing the box it came in and reading it, IT CLEARLY STATES 270 not 290! Where can I vote ??

Inches Inches Inches lost are more important to me than pounds... :) well POUNDS ARE STILL IMPORTANT NOT AS MUCH AS INCHES THOSE SHOW THE REAL PROGRESS AND THAT IS A HEALTHIER WAY TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT!!

Since people can now vote on the accuracy of an item's nutritional information, it would be nice if SP showed us that information in the search results - that would save us time because we'd not even bother looking at the details for low-rated items.

For example, if I search for "wilson sliced pepperoni", the results could show a simple star rating to indicate the number of Yes votes as opposed to No votes. And it should order the results from highest rated to lowest - something like this:

Pepperoni, Wilson Sliced , 14 slices *****
Wilson Sliced Pepperoni (14 Slices) ***
Wilson Pepperoni Slices - 1 serving = 14 slices **
Wilson Sliced Pepperoni - 14 slices/28 g *

Hadn't thought of the non-US part of things...from a US point of view, it makes me jealous, to see how many foods are made better in other parts of the world. Even the same brands--lower fat, sodium, higher levels of (quality) fibre are standard elsewhere.

The sharing is only a relatively new innovation for SP - I THINK about 3 years ago, and was at the request of many non-US members. BUT just like Caveat Emptor for people buying goods, it really applies here to! Just be aware that you may not be 'buying' in accuracy.

Because it's exceptionally helpful for non-US residents. :)

I agree. But I wonder why SP keeps the feature that lets members share information...probably ok when the site was new and smaller, but now it seems those who most 'generous' with sharing their information are also those who tend to be less/least accurate.

I agree with the two previous posts. I've been a member of spark for some years now and have always entered my own nutritional information to ensure accuracy.

"but the SP NUTRITION TRACKER WAS WRONG"

No, it sounds like you used member entries. There is always a member's name next to entries created by other people. You should definitely stick with Spark's own generated database and the items you personally manually enter only.

You can't trust other individuals to do things the most correct way, that would suit you.

Unfortunately this isn't a problem with the site database, or the site tracker. Just the people who use it.

It sounds like you might be using the Members' entries. They are notorious for being incorrect. If SP doesn't have their own entries for what yo want, I would be inclined to get the correct info from the labels of your food and enter them yourself. Once they are saved in your favourites they are there unless YOU remove them.

I am so frustrated with the "nutrition" tracker on this site. I have to look through on average 20-40 items just to find one with the correct nutritional info. The majority of items on the tracker list only calories. Some of us want to know about vitamins and also track the correct amount of sugars, fats, carbs, etc in our food. Do I have to manually input everything I eat just to get the proper information? Last week I noticed my carbs and fats were extremely high when I had been trying very hard to stick with my diet. It turned out 4 of the food items I got off the tracker(the ones I had to weed out of 20-40 products mind you) had the incorrect information. So I felt bad for nothing..it wasn't MY fault but the SP NUTRITION TRACKER WAS WRONG!. I had to reenter a weeks worth of meals, snacks, etc because I tend to eat some of the same fruits, vegetable, soy milk, etc. I have tried voting on the foods and putting under comment when i select "no" that the list needs editing badly...but that hasnt helped. Even with a long list of favorites I at least earn 1 extra spin on the SP wheel because I have to look up so many foods/and 75% I vote on and put comments that they are incorrect. I have sent 3 emails to the help desk with no response. Please someone edit the list. It is one of the most used features on this site. emoticon

Sorry for any typos that Spell Check didn't catch. I am a terrible typer!!! ( and speller...sometimes even Spell Check cant tell what I typed..LOL) Also please dont be offended if I dont respond to email right away. I usually check it once a day at least but every now and then I miss a day or two...
