Sorry, when I gave you that suggestion I had forgotten that the ad didn't load. I hope that turning your phone sideways helps a bit for you. Have a good day :)

thanks Ann
I do use the mobile site some - I don't use my computer on the weekends so everything I do SP is via my phone.. and yes that little sharing bar - and some of the ads - wander across the screen at least on my android based phone.
if the problem happens on the food tracking page again I will send the screen shot - unfortunately there was no content filling in so I don't know from whom it came!
again thanks

Hi,

Thanks for your feedback! The site isn't fully optimized for viewing on the phone, but I think that you may have better luck with that if you turn your phone sideways to read the articles. It seems that viewing it in landscape mode helps keep that sharing bar on the side of the article.

Our mobile apps also allow you to read articles and other content in a way that is formatted to avoid those issues, so that is another option. If you don't have the app and are tracking food on your phone, you may want to try using our mobile site at mobile.sparkpeople.com, as that was designed with mobile devices in mind.

Regarding the ad in front of your food groupings, anything that you feel interferes with using the site can be reported directly to our advertising team by sending an email to adreport@sparkpeople.com. Not everyone sees the same ads, so sending them specific information about the ad can help them track it down. A screenshot and the URL the ad directs you to is the information that will help them the most. I did check that out on my account but I didn't see that ad, so reporting it the way I described above is probably the best option for that.

I hope this helps!

Ads on SP are important - they keep the site free and they allow us to learn of new things occasionally (they've become now more an annoying rerun of sites visited or products searched) and I accept that. They seem to be taking on a life of their own, and getting in the way, especially using the site on my smartphone.
This morning I started to log food and there in front of my 'groupings' is this big empty (ad didn't even load) box... I had to scroll the page to even see my own stuff - not a big effort, granted, but annoying. and on the phone too these ads in the left banner or whatever its called are showing and staying in front of the site material!
added annoyance on the phone is the tab for sharing.. stays in front of the page right in the lower middle of the screen.
could someone please at least train the ads to stay??
