Foods added by members are often wrong and/or missing key pieces of info (eg some people enter calories only), so they don't come up by default. It's best to stick with the main database normally.

There are two options - searching foods entered by other users, and seaching manually entered foods (yours). You may not have had the right one selected when trying to find that other member's food again.

If you manually enter foods and want to share them so that others can find them when they select "foods shared by other members" then you need to specify you want to share those. I think that's on the Favorites tab.

Why is that? It seems like most foods have been entered by a member so I'm curious as to why the ones I add don't show up in the general search. Also, I once saw an entry by someone, but when I searched for it again, using "entered by a member" or however it's worded, I couldn't find it. ??

Make sure when you search you have the selectable option to "search manually entered foods" checked. It won't come up if you just search the database normally.

I added a food, because the info in the existing entries for Sunkist Albacore White tuna in water 2.6 oz packets did not match the information on the label. But now I can't find the entry I created. What happened? I would hate to do all that tedious work again, but the existing data is wrong.
